This depends on the procedure you and I chose. If we decided liposuction the scars wont be bigger then 1 inch. It is best to make an appointment with our office.

They could be tiny if you only need liposuction . An in person consultation is needed to know for sure.

Most often, fat is removed through tiny incisions less than 1 cm, and they are usually hidden in strategic areas to minimize any appearance of having surgery done. Long thin metal tubes called cannulas are then used to suction the fat. However, the success of this procedure is generally dependent upon the ability of skin to contract and shrink. Many different liposuction technologies exist out there, but the outcome is mostly dependent upon the judgement and skill of the surgeon.

The answer to this question depends on many factors. Some patients are candidates for lipoplasty/liposuction, which usually results in inconspicuous, well concealed scars 2-5mm in length. Some patients might require removal of skin. This can require much longer scars, in some cases circumferentially around the abdomen and back as well as scars in the groin. My suggestion is for you to find a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons at http://www.plasticsurgery.org and have a personal consultation to discuss the areas of concern with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.

If only fat needs to be removed and your skin is taut and healthy, then pure liposuction should do the trick. The scars from liposuction are usually less than 1/4″ long and are frequently hidden from view. For example, one scar can be hidden within the belly button. Other scars can be hidden low down on the abdomen and well below the panty line.

If there is also loose skin, then combined liposuction and a tummy tuck may be in order. Most tummy tuck scars are placed low on the abdomen in a place similar to a C-section scar.
