Hi, I’m 5,6 200 pounds. I used to be 220 and I lost 70 pounds and got to 150, but my doctor recently put me on medication that causes weight gain and it’s hard to lose weight. I was wondering how much it would cost for liposuction on my belly, my sides and my thighs. Thank you.

Firstly do not substitute the idea for liposuction for diet and exercise. Once your physician is able to control your medications and weight, then the liposuction procedure will serve to contour your body and it will be a much safer procedure. Good luck!

First and foremost it is important to understand that liposuction is not a substitute for diet and exercise. It is simply a contouring procedure and is not intended to nor can it reasonably be expected to result in weight loss. The reality is that even after fairly large volumes of liposuction the actual weight loss is relatively small. Further, larger volumes of liposuction result in increased surgical risks to the patient. At your current weight you have a BMI of 32. You will get a better result from liposuction and/or surgery to remove excess skin if you can decrease your calorie consumption and get your weight back down to 150 (BMI of 24). You’ve already shown that you can lose the weight and I’m sure that you can do it again with the same dedication you demonstrated before. At that lower BMI, the surgery will be safer for you and you’ll get a better result. Best wishes and good luck!
