I weight 235. I want to know if I should lose more weight before getting a tummy tuck. I lost 90lbs and have kept it off for 2yrs but need to know if it would be best to lose more before trying this procedure and if so how much and how long should I wait after I lose the weight to go to a plastic surgeon?

Congratulations on losing the 90 pounds and keeping it off for two years! I like to perform tummy tucks on people who are at a stable weight and certainly if you plan on losing more weight then by all means do it before you have the procedure. Having said that, if you get close to your goal weight then plan on visiting a plastic surgeon to get their opinion on options for the surgery. That visit also tends to be an “energizer” for you to help with both weight loss and keeping it off. Should you and your surgeon decide to proceed, the two of you can set up a proper plan for timing of surgery around you weight goal. Hope this helps.

Congratulations on your weight loss! The best time to proceed with plastic surgery is when you are at a maintainable weight. If you plan to continue to lose, then I would recommend waiting until you have reached your goal and your weight has stayed stable for at least 6 months.
