Can a Feminist Vote for Romney and Like Herself in the Morning?
Last week was the Republican National Convention during which Mitt Romney clearly laid out his platform. Okay, well maybe a lot of it wasn’t so clear, except when it came time to explain his contempt for Democrats, and specifically President Obama.
This week, the Democrats have a turn to present their agenda, and hear President Obama accept the party’s nomination. (If every speaker was as riveting as Michelle Obama, I’m sure many more Americans would click in and get more informed about both sides.) But, I digress . . .
This is the context in which I have been pondering a very important question:
Can a feminist vote for Mitt Romney and look at her/his self in the mirror in the morning?
It’s the ECONOMY, stupid!
Going on the assumption that the economy is the #1 issue confronting America, here’s what I want to know (and I’m sure both parties would like to know, too): Can a feminist put the principles and ideals of feminism aside if he or she believes that Mitt Romney is the one who can get the job done? Can men and women who support equal rights for all, who are pro-choice, and who demand equal pay vote for a candidate who supports none of these? Can a feminist be a social Democrat but a fiscal Republican? Will those who define themselves as feminists vote for Mitt Romney if they believe he can create jobs and jumpstart the economy, knowing that they might be voting against their personal moral compass for the collective “greater good”? And if they do, will they tell?
Former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright weighed in on the conversation during an exclusive interview with The Huffington Post saying, “I can’t understand why any woman would want to vote for Mitt Romney, except maybe Mrs. Romney.” Even though she rhetorically asked about women in general and not feminists in particular, her outspoken support of women’s rights, especially in the workplace, would indicate that she’s asking how anyone who truly believes in the rights of women could vote for Romney.
Always eager to hear directly from all of you instead of through the filter of the media, I put this question out to friends and followers on Facebook and Twitter immediately after watching Romney’s speech last week: “Can a feminist vote for Romney?” The response was fast and furious. Here are a few snippets (reprinted with their permission):
- “Of course. A feminist is first and foremost in favor of economic opportunity. For women as well as men. Everything else is just window dressing.” (Mary Linthicum)
- “I don’t feel they can as there must be equal rights for our bodies, our minds, our salaries and respect for us as equals in all things that matter.” (Madge Stein Woods)
- ”Absolutely, a woman can be a feminist, but still subscribe to the family values of the Romney/Ryan ticket. Other than a Pro-life plank in the platform, which according to Gallup polls, is held by about half the population, there are no other ‘assaults’ on women’s rights to healthcare, civil rights, or standing in society. The national platform did not ‘redefine’ rape, that was the statement by an old fool, who was dropped like a hot potato from Republican support. I chastise people on the right when they repost untruths about Obama, since (I guess its the cop in me), I vet every statement made against either side. I implore others to do the same.” (Joe Madas)
- “Yes, a feminist can vote for Romney. How are you defining feminist? I have a friend who is most certainly a die-hard feminist, writes about feminist issues, is outspoken, very successful and she most certainly is voting for Mitt. I have another friend, she would without a doubt consider herself a feminist, and she too is voting for Mitt Romney. These are smart, intelligent, funny, witty, right leaning feminists.” (Amy Ferris)
- “Yes, after tormenting inner conflict, if she believes the national debt to be a greater looming crisis. She might if she believes Romney a better choice for that resolve.” (Rebecca Fieman Irving)
- “Feminists can make whatever choice is best for them. However, with Romney’s stance on issues such as reproductive healthcare and funding for family planning services, I see nothing but irony in a feminist who would make the choice to vote for Romney/Ryan — as they have made very clear their intent to limit the choices that women can make in many other areas of their lives.” (Amber Versola)
- “A feminist cannot vote for any Republican in today’s atmosphere. I have read their whole platform and it is the most anti-woman in history. Far to the right of the 1980 platform which was considered a triumph for conservatism at the time.” (Martha Burk)
- “Feminists are also concerned about children, that they not be hungry or in need of medical care. That is a reason not to vote for Romney and the Republican Party, many of whom want to cut Food Stamps, Medicaid, etc.” (Margaret Walther)
- “Absolutely not. Romney wants to take away a woman’s most basic right — the right to make choices about her own body. You can’t be a feminist and let someone else make those choices for you.” (Lois Alter Mark)
- “I know a couple of women who would consider themselves moderately feminist, yet who have embraced the Romney platform because they see him as an economic savior who also shares their views on immigration and health care.” (Shana Aborn)
- “Feminists, be they male or female, are not likely to vote for Romney and the Republicans. I mean, who do you want to appoint the next Supreme Court Justice if you are a feminist? So, no, I do not think a feminist could vote for Romney and still be a feminist. The moment they pushed the ‘Vote Romney’ button, they would move from feminist to fool.” (Maryellen Deckard)
Many men and women I know who consider themselves to be feminists and who work hard to promote true equality between the sexes are worried that President Obama may not be able to turn things around. At the same time they can’t imagine supporting the Romney/Ryan ticket. It’s become a political, social, economic, philosophical, and personal quagmire. What’s a feminist to do?
Tell us your thoughts on this, FOFs!

You don’t have to vote for Romney. Didn’t you hear Clinton last night? He really summed it up when he said: Obama stepped into a major mess. During the prior 8 years there was two unfunded wars and 8 weeks before Obama got into office the US was on the brink of financial ruin because of the financial crisis. Basically the GOP is saying we made a mess–Obama isn’t cleaning it up fast enough — so put us back in.
All they will do is revert to the financial policies that almost destroyed us and ruin Medicare as well.
The choice is simple — if you don’t think you’ll need Medicare vote Romney. If you think you will pick the Dems. (Hint–None of you can survive without Medicare.)
I disagree. Obama has spent more in office than any other President before including during Bush’s 2 terms. Thats why we are in the mess we are in. Of course CLinto is goin to say The Republicans are at fault. What else would he say.
Exactly!
Jodi, my reply is for you. I cannot imagine any woman who calle herself a feminist voting for Romney.
No – a feminist may not vote for Romney. He has pledged to dismantle Roe v. Wade; his platform would not allow abortion even in cases of rape, incest or when the health of the mother is at stake; he would gut Medicaid and the school lunch program, which would impact the health of poor families and children; Romney would “restore” Obama’s changes to Medicare, thus reinstituting the “donut hole,” meaning seniors would again face heavy medication expenses. He would stop federal funding to Planned Parenthood, a key avenue to health care for low-income women.
On the economy – On his first day in office Obama signed the Lily Ledbetter Act, which gives women who discover wage discrimination more time to file their grievances, and which also supports equal pay for equal work, a key feminist economic tenet. His first act on his first day. In addition, he saved the auto industry, maintaining employment for millions and helping to restore the U.S. economy; he stopped the bleeding of jobs; his Affordable Care Act sees women’s access to birth control as a public health right. Need more?
NO. If you value yourself and your female friends and family as people who deserve the right to make decisions for themselves about: their bodies, who they are allowed to love, have equality of healthcare, have equality of pay, want a government that encourages equality regards to sex/race in appointments to positions of power, if you want affordable educations for young people, and a President who understands the difficulties of the middle class you cannot vote Republican! The economy was such an extreme mess when Obama took it on, it will take time to “fix” it. It is happening and I have faith in Obama’s plans…I do not want to go back to the same ways that got us in such a mess in the first place, which seems to be Romney’s platform. We must vote Democratic this election!
What’s a feminist to do? What any voter should do. Read the facts. Bill Clinton set the record straight, after the Republican National Convention laid out their vitriol and bold lies. And they are lies — not misunderstood or skewed. They lied. If you’re a feminist, you naturally want everyone to have the same freedoms and rights. Which usually ends up in economic growth, by the by.
NO. A basic tenet of feminism is that women have the right to make choices in their own best interests. The Republicans do not support the right to choose, basic reproductive healthcare, or equal pay for equal work. You hold out the possibility that the Republicans would somehow turn the economy around by pursuing the same policies that plunged us into this hole in the first place. Only someone with no memory or no knowledge of basic arithmetic would believe that could be so. I suppose that someone who is extremely wealthy could try to justify a vote for the Republicans in the hope of increasing the personal tax cuts that were instrumental in creating the deficit disasters left by Reagan and Bush for Clinton and Obama to clean up. However, that’s pursuing self interest too far. I believe that feminism also encompasses the principle eloquently expressed by Sister Simone Campbell: “I am my sisters’ keeper.”
YES! As a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, wife, etc. ..i.e. woman! I am not a one issue voter. My worries are with the economy and the jobs for all women and men.. I am very disappointed with Obama, even though I voted for him in 2008. He does not seem to have a grasp of what to do to fix the economy…Throwing more stimulus into building roads or bridges is not going to help find jobs in the private sector…
There will not be enough people working to pay the taxes to keep all of the entitlements paid..The government will begin printing more money which will cause huge inflation…Anyone who has lived through inflation, knows that it is the cruelest tax of all…It is already beginning…look at food prices and gas prices…
Romney is not an economic savior, and his plans, excuse me – Ryan’s plans- would be disastrous in both the short and long run. Not only are you not a feminist if you vote for them, you are voting against the best interests of both men and women.
Even rich white men have to live in the same nation as every one else – it’s extremely short term thinking to destroy all but the richest in any community.
Certainly you are a human first before a woman, but the answer is NO in either case.
Yes, Yes, Yes I can vote for Romney! Cannot wait until election day to get the President out of office, let him return to private life.
He has been a disaster since day one. The economy was the main issue when he was elected. So, his only objective was nationalized health care which is a 2,000 page tax increase. (which, by the way, the American people are still against)
He has hired close to 100 people with large salaries as “Csars”, not vetted by Congress that make rules for us in everyday life.
By his own admission, if he did not turn the economy around in 3 years, he should not be reelected.
If you had watched the Republican convention, you would have see strong, intelligent women who do not need Obama to define them, help them or save them. What they need is less government intervention, taxes, health care.
By the way, I saw Paul Ryan’s acceptance speech, I witnessed a man who loved, respected the women in his life. He sees Americans not men and women.
No, a feminist cannot vote for a Republican. In their view, we have no rights to our own body and when we get old they want us to live in proverty and die as quickly as possible so they do not haveto address Medicare. Yes, I’m wording thi strongly, but that is what I got out of the debates that the Republicans had.
NO! Romney and the Republicans have not laid out any plan that would help anyone other than those who have already succeeded economically. There is absolutely no evidence that further enriching those at the top will benefit anyone else. An economy is not like a summer rain that falls equally on all and uniformly nurtures and nourishes all. It’s more like isolated thunder storms in a drought season creating gully washers for a few while the rest can only look on. A Romney/Ryan win will only want to poison the well for the next generation and oh, by the way, strip away reproductive freedoms.
Second point is that the stock market tanked under Bush the Second and has sharply rebounded under Obama. One obvious reason is the high unemployment. Wall Street does not respond favorably to competition for labor and rising wages. What would be the incentive to grow jobs if the outcome in the capital markets is negative? And how does that affect your family?
YES! Although Clinton did well with economy, he is on record as being a liar (“I did not have sex with that woman”) so why does anyone believe him today? Does a leopard change its spots?
Obama has managed to alienate many church-going people and has not tried to work with the Republicans (Woodward has a new book out “The Price of Politics” about Obama’s multiple mis-steps.) They are back to the old “blame the other guy” game.
I still haven’t decided if I will vote for Romney but with 5 children in their 20s (all employed) the economy worrries me more than equal pay (though I am still disappointed that we haven’t achieved it, nor paid maternity/paternity leave, nor affordable daycare, ….).
A former CEO who did a wonderful (last-minute) job with the Olympics and who was a successful governor of MA has the potential to work with the economy. Although he is Republican, he was elected twice as governor in one of the bluest states in the country. He was able to work with both political parties while governor and they achieved statewide health care while he was governor.
YES! Why does no one deplore the insidious PR creation of ‘Republicans are evil’? I, for one, am still able to look for myself and see that the Emporer has no clothes. Lemmings are cute, but I don’t want to be one.
Of course a “feminist” can vote Republican! A true feminist believes that a woman can be whatever she wants in life–that’s what all the early women feminist fighters were fighting for….therefore a woman’s right to be a stay at home mom vs a career woman is every bit as equal.Women now are every bit as interested in economic issues if not more so therefore seem to lean more towards family issues–protection of the unborn, jobs, true health issues, income health…..some of the democratic issues seen as health issues when in fact they are personal decision not health issues ex: contraception, abortion….we have too many dire economic needs like getting a job for family health than to fund contraception. Women are TOO smart and wise to be “pigeon-holed” into only caring about these types of issues–In this time of our country’s needs we need a different type of leader–a true business man that can get the country back on track–make HARD decisions and we all need to realize that EVERYONE will be affected. Putting a far left or right leaning person in as President will still not get anything accomplished–we need a more moderate like Romney
NO WAY! Any woman with an ounce of self worth would never believe the propaganda constantly pumped out by the Koch Brothers and Carl Rove. Forget what Lyin Ryan and Mittens says. They are simply pawns in the hands of controlling interest groups. Money and power control the Republican Party and will control your life if you allow them to be elected. We need more women in office and NOT more arrogant rich white men.
Money and power control both parties, so don’t kid yourself or blame one party over another. And there are pawns on both sides because of the super pacs. Expensive fundraising dinners on both sides that the everyday people could not afford. Funny how everyone forgets that Bush had to deal with 9/11 and the aftermath it brought. Obama has decided that the social programs that are to benefit the citizens of this country should be distributed to illegals who think they deserve them. After a while, you cannot blame the previous administration and need to accept your history and all that it is, or isn’t. I have no problem as a woman voting Republican.
NO! If you care about the women in your life, their rights to decide what happens w/their OWN bodies, and advancing Women’s rights (Instead of sending us back to the Fifties!) you WON’T vote Romney/Ryan. And as far as the economy: Simple elementary math will tell you that if it took 8 years to get in this shape, a President CAN’T fix it in 4 – especially w/REPUBLICAN-LED Congress fighting him tooth & nail! Also: If you’ve ever had to live w/out Health Insurance (or taken care of a poorer population of people who have NO HEALTHCARE!) then you’ll understand & support the kind of vision Obama has for this Country, & you’ll vote to give him a chance to advance the issues he’s already begun working on. TRICKLE – DOWN economics doesn’t work, & neither does tax breaks for the wealthiest 1% of our citizens. I don’t have the extra money to deposit in the Caymens or Switzerland – & have to pay my taxes… why shouldn’t they? Oh – And could someone PLEASE explain WHY Romney WON’T release those tax records?!?!?!
YES!!!
I’m a feminist, and I’m voting for ROMNEY. I’m voting for him because this election isn’t about anything MORE IMPORTANT than THE ECONOMY. All the social issues are SECONDARY to the mess we are in, a mess that Obama can’t get the Congress and Senate to work together to fix. We’ve all been sold a bill of goods that he was going to be the ‘Great Uniter’ and he’s been the GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT. He can’t unite ANYONE at this point, because Republicans know he will raise taxes and hurt the middle class and small business JOB CREATORS, and he can’t get the support he needs to be effective because of his underlying principles and HIS OWN WORLD VIEW.
If you are uninformed (and basically, that’s most of you that are voting for Obama), GO GET INFORMED. Read his books! See ’2016′ – Obama’s Agenda for America (the Movie).
After living in Africa for two years and Mexico on two different occasions, I can tell you MY WORLD VIEW IS DIFFERENT than the average American Voter’s. I read both of Obama’s books when he ran for election in 2008 and couldn’t bring myself to vote for him then. There is NO WAY I could possibly vote for him now, after watching him act out his own World Agenda these past four years.
American voters are like the Ostrich with its head in the sand. We voted for Obama because he’s Black and a Good Speaker, SOLD US A GOOD LINE, but HE DIDN’T, CAN’T, AND WON’T DELIVER.
This election ISN’T about feminism, and we would be better served to remember the basic fact that SOCIAL ISSUES ARE OF NO IMPORTANCE WHEN YOU CAN’T EAT OR FEED YOUR CHILDREN OR PAY YOUR BILLS BECAUSE YOU CAN’T FIND WORK.
Wake up, put the man in office who will GET THE JOB DONE – MITT ROMNEY.
belindabg, you’ve expressed a lot of my opinions here. I respect your passion and I agree wholeheartedly. Thanks.
Wow, I really agree with you! I also have lived overseas for over half my life (married a man from another country) and it sometimes seems that voters ignore the important issues for the less important ones.
No matter what anyone says, abortion won’t be outlawed. The health care reform might be restructured (another example of Obama & Co.’s inability to compromise) but MA got universal health care under Romney.
So many of these posts seem to be repeating the party line – personally I have now programmed my email to send Obama campaign emails straight to trash. The manipulations of the the facts that are in the emails and are designed to encourage ire against Romney & Ryan was infuriating me. If this is what his campaign is putting out, if these are the type of people he is hiring – I am deeply disappointed and cannot vote for him again.
The health of our lives is not just about women any more than it is just about jobs. Providing jobs without benefit to the physical world in which we live is certainly not enough. What good is a job if we give up our freedom not only as women, but as people, and live in and leave a wasteland instead of a green one for future generations? Romney’s speech–despite his showing that he loves, his wife, kids, God and country– did not convince me that he is a leader for this country. He boasted providing jobs, and mocked the president for paying attention the environment. Unless your motto is “Save the children; screw the planet,” vote “No” to Romney no matter how disappointed you are that the economy isn’t recovered after only 4 years.
You cannot just focus on one issue. We need to look at the overall picture, we need to get
this country back on track. Focus on the economy, get all these free programs under control.
I don’t want the government involved in my birth control nor yours. I am a strong woman and
I have control over my body. Mitt was governor in MA he never undid any women regulations.
Stop harping on this phony war on women which was made up by the Democrats. I live in MA
where the tax payers are forced to pay for a sex change operation for a man who killed his
wife after the operation he will be moved to a woman’s prison where he will have opportunity
to kill more woman. Perhaps feminist should be some what concerned with this craziness.
I want to see big change VOTE for MITT ROMNEY.
No, you can’t vote for the clueless rich guy who would enact law that forces your decisions regarding your body and your rights. When you vote for Romney you cannot face the rest of us morally & ethically.
The silver spoon guy who has never worked; lived off of investment income all his life and has never held a (real) job. He’s the priviledged money man, not the worker. The man who has paid, by percentage, less income tax than 50% of you reading this. This the man who is the money behind the Bain Capital juggernaught which buys and systematically guts businesses, fires thousands, and sells off the company assets for his personal gain. That is his business. He leaves the employees behind, instantly jobless and standing in soup lines. This is the man who in his speeches tells college kids who cannot afford next semester’s tuition to “ask their parents” to bankroll their business start up.
Wilbur Mittens Romney’s closest counsel, his wife, has no insight either. A woman wearing a $900 t-shirt with full household staffing in a palatial home(s), a wealthy husband and family, and nannies to care for her children does not know what it is to “work and raise children.” She has never known hunger, scrimping to make the rent, losing a day’s pay to stay home with a flu-stricken child, working midnight shifts or having the lights shut off because the payment is late. She doesn’t know “us women” she says she loves and she does not know our issues. She never will because she has no life experience to draw from. We are the gypsies (the under $100,000 a year job holders) she does not want in her palace. We are the hired help her husband drops from the payroll as he sells the building that we were working in yesterday.
We are invisible to the Romneys even as we clean their houses, care for their lawns, deliver their mail, manage their personal affairs, safeguard their community, educate their children, cook their meals, and do it all for patronizing smiles and minimum wages. They are nice people by outward appearances, but they are not suitable to govern our nation.
Remember, it can always get worse. Like the factory worker depicted in the commercial says – heed the warning “He’ll take it all.” Romney will take it all and never give the American people a second thought. He does it for a living.
Mick, please do some research before you post.
I find this debate sickening. I do not subscribe to FOF to hear a curbside political debate, or thoughts about voting or not voting for anyone. Before I end my subscription, I’m offering this strong comment. If there’s another similar blog, I will leave FOF. Please stick to the subject matter on which you are experts–fashion and style for women over 50. Thank you.
Seriously?? Does FOF really need to post political views? Is this in your Mission Statement?
Dear Michele,
I did not post my political views (nor did FOF). I reported on some facts and asked a question which has fostered a very lively discussion. Encouraging women to talk about what’s important to us is one of the many things FOF–a community of women–is proud to do (in addition to all the fun fashion and beauty stuff!).
We are in the middle of a presidential election, the outcome of which could have a significant impact on our lives, on many levels.
I appreciate your taking the time to read the post and leave your comment.
Thank you!
Barbara
Certainly women can vote for Romney. He is a good and honest man who has been married for years to one woman and has five sons. He cares about all Americans. He will not set back women. His policies let women have a choice and leaves Government out of it. As taxpayers, we will not be paying for other women’s birthcontrol or abortions. That is left to individual states and organizations. The government is in great debt. We need to lower the debt and create jobs. Romney and Ryan can do what Obama was unable to do.
The very next week Michelle Obama wore a jacket that cost over $5000! Romney gave away all of the money he inherited, didn’t take a salary for the Olympics or as governor, and has way less money than John Kerry. He’s created thousands of jobs, and has paid millions of dollars more in taxes than Obama ever will. Since when has it become something to be ashamed of to be successful. The Obamas have had as much handed to them as anyone, with much less effort on their part.
I’m hearing just the same old democrat spin here. Why does Sandra Fluke have to get her birth control for free – no one is preventing her from getting it. She should be practicing safe sex anyway!
I generally do not care to become involved in “political” discussions on what was put forth as being a fashion/beauty website. That said-You asked-here is my answer. NO. A resounding, scream it from the rooftops-NO! A feminist would never vote for Romney.
Romney will bring all women in the US under the umbrella of the Republican platform which has gone so far right from center I am not sure they will ever find center again. We have all lived thru Roe V Wade and I don’t need the GOP to re-invent the wheel and make us go thru it again. Romney would cut Planned Parenthood funding reducing access to birth control.
I DO NOT as a women want to GO BACK. I want to GO FORWARD! ROMNEY/RYAN ARE A STEP BACK IN TIME AND I REFUSE TO GO.
IF giving tax cuts to the wealthy is the way to stimulate growth then please answer this. I have heard about those tax cuts for 12 years now including 4 of an Obama presidency. If TRICKLE DOWN works then WHERE are all those jobs?!
Banking/financial issues in Europe have loomed large over the stock market affecting many aspects of the American economy. Romney has no more chance of controlling Europe than than Obama does.
Not to mention HOW the GOP would reduce the deficit. Maybe the loss of a mortgage deduction does not affect many of us but it certainly affects our children.
The GOP is doing what they have always done. Keep the middle class under their “thumb” with an Ayn Rand ideology of “I got mine” screw you mentality. They appeal to undereducated, uninformed voters on “emotional” issues like abortion and birth control while taking your vote with one hand and your money with the other. Romney is a wealthy man whose wealth came off the hard work and the backs of the middle class. He knows NOTHING of how the middle class lives. Or do we all think that everyone suffering with MS trots their own thoroughbred horse off to the Olympics for “therapy”? That we all sell 60,000. of our stock to get thru college? NOT A BLOODY CLUE!!
If you want answers to what “truth” there was in the DNC & RNC speeches delivered by both President Obama and Mitt Romney go to http://www.politifact.com. Go there after the debates. PAY ATTENTION! Decide for yourself. Make an INFORMED decision when you step into that voting booth.
I am a feminist. I am a lady. I respect myself and others. I have a son and grandchildren. I want my family to experience Americas greatness as I have. I work, pay taxes and I own a couple of houses. I worked to send myself to college after turning 30 years old. Why is the ability to have an abortion more important than jobs and getting the economy back on track? Use birth control, there are many forms and it is free at your local health department. What do you do when your personal economy is off track? Do you keep spending money, using the credit card, keep borrowing, or do you cut back? Why wouldn’t President Obama and Congress cut spending? When you are in a hole stop digging. Yes, a feminist can vote for Gov. Romney. I don’t have a problem with him being wealthy. He ‘s smart and has proven that he can take a failing company or organization and make it productive. I will leave you with this thought, a poor person has never given me job. Yes, I am voting for Romney/Ryan.
Yes we can…I am with Carol… There are more important issues … Most Republicans don’t care to monitor a womens body,,,we just don’t want to pay for it!
We would also like a bit of grace and class given to our granddaughters … To honor their reproductive gifts as well as rights… 40 million abortions since 1973 …
The real control of their beautiful bodies comes with pride , and the wisdom to take BC ,,,
Liberate, Educate, don’t Empregnate! Now that is real liberation! Ladies…
Anyone who is truly pro-women, cannot vote for Romney.
Ladies, electing Romney will take us miles backwards … we’ve come too far to turn back now.
Yes-I agree with the posting that the most basic goal of a feminist is economic equality. The state of the economy is basic to not only our standard of living here, but the “impression” we make overseas…ergo, the big issue is the economy. ” Choices”, ladies, are our own-that is the bottom line..be confident, be self assured, certainly do not fear being what you are and all that you can be but don’t believe that just because something is new and different, that it is necessarily good-use your own mind to weigh what is important…..and vote your own choice-..As for Bill Clinton-he is a brilliant man ..but a more brilliant speaker-he could sell the Brooklyn Bridge to anyone…my opinion is that he knows this, he smiles to himself about this..and we should be somewhat leary of this wooden horse “bearing gifts”… and what his motives are…which could be as simple as personal gratification of his “own gifts” and how they empower him..
This is probably the most ignorant heading I have read in a long time. Not very inclusive, open minded, or fair minded now are you? So there is just one way to think, huh! Good by. I’m done with this kind of narrow mindedness. Educate yourself before you write such ignorant biased bigotted crap.
