13February   {Test This} Mai Couture Blush Papier

Mai Couture’s Blush Papier (retail value: $17.50) comes in a pocket-sized booklet with 50 one-time-use sheets, ideal for makeup application and touch ups while you’re on the go. The powder paper comes in five shades: prettyful, sunset blvd, venice beach, uptown, and sicily. You don’t need a makeup brush, which, according to Mai Couture, “often carries bacteria that can irritate sensitive skin.” Instead, tear off a sheet, and gently rub in a circular motion onto the apples of your cheeks.

The mineral-based powder is also paraben and talc free. "It gives the complexion a natural-looking hint of shimmering hue." Sounds good on paper…but what do you think?

10 FOFs will test it. Choose your shade, and then leave a comment below with your choice for a chance to test it.

A note from the manufacturer: Mai Couture's Blush Papier in Prettyful may not be suitable for mature skin.

P.S. Want to be guaranteed a product to test? Join the FOF Beauty Club now!

Ten FOFs will win. (See all our past winners, here.) (See official rules, here.) Contest closes February 20th, 2013 at midnight E.S.T. Contest limited to residents of the continental U.S.

Trying to find just the right blush for aging skin to look natural. Still looking, but maybe “prettyful” would be the best?

Loving the Sunset Blvd. color. This sounds like a great product to take traveling or slip one in your pocket or purse for day trips!

This is a great concept. Easy to carry. No melting in hot weather, and no applicator. Wonder how it looks on aging 50 something fair skin? I’m really starting to age & show wrinkles…fighting them as I may with good qualiy Epionce intensive nourishing moisturizer and Solar brand mineral sunscreen. I’m willing to give it a good test!

This looks brilliant. The Mai Couture powder worked wonderfully so I’d love to try this blush paper in the Prettyful shade.

I often run out of the house in a hurry. I keep some mineral powder in my bag but still have to resort to pinching my cheeks for color. This would be a wonderful and convenient alternative.

I would love to try this! Sounds like a really great way to apply blush for my mature skin! Also, love the convenience of it. Love that it is paraban free, too! Prettyful looks like a nice shade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can’t tell you how many blushes I’ve bought and thrown away. Switched to creams when powders started migrating in eye lines but they feel greasy and seem to change color by day’s end. This product sounds like such a lovely light color application. I believe this would go a long way toward achieving a natural looking glow.

………………….ahhhhhhh! Sunset Boulevard would be my choice. However I do have mature skin, I suppose, as I am definitely mature. Why would a blush not work well on mature skin? I will tell you if it truly is appropriate or not. ;-)

Blush Papier?! Did not know it is possible. I want to test it and see how it would work for me. I have very fair skin and blush would be nice on me.

Well, after reading your comment I switched from Prettyful to Sicily. This is a great idea. No brush to clean and portable too.

I choose Sunset Blvd because it is such a great color for Spring. I used to use gel blush and I can not get it anymore…so I would love to try this…it seems that one of the benefits is that you can apply it exactly where you want it…unlike with a brush and powder that sprays a bit upon application . What a nice innovation for blush which is my must have make up item.

I think I would pick Sicily because it is the closest natural color for my skin tone. I am very interested in this product because I am awful at remembering to wash my make up brushes.

Will give it a try,I am not a make-up person, but occasionally I will wear some and blush is what I use with my creams.

I’d try Sunset Boulevard, though I think this really would not be a good application for older skin. It would be interesting to see.

I would choose Sicily which looks like the most neutral, lightest color. Their site doesn’t seem to have any tips on choosing the best shade for your skin tone. They should add that.

I am a little confused…when I went to choose the shade it was listed as Sicily on the MAI website but FOF has all the colors except for SICILY and has something listed as SIN CITY but there is no SINCITY shade to compare it to. ANYWAY I’d love to try it. LOVE THE DISPOSABLE PAPER IDEA

I’d love to try Sunset Blvd. What an amazing concept, and it would be so easy to take this in your purse or suitcase. I love mineral makeup but I hate the mess it makes. This would allow me to carry my blush without fear of it spilling in the bottom of my favorite purse!

Venice Beach would be my choice of color. This sounds like a great product especially if you travel a lot. I hate it when I take my blush with me to another country and it becomes soggy because of the humidity. So maybe this product would be better.

Oh! I would LOVE to try the sunset blvd. I just ran out of blush, and I have a hard time making blush look right anyway. This could work beautifully.

This product is so perfect for me! I travel often ( I own a travel agency), and this would travel so well for me, and I could recommend it to my clients. Win-win!
I would like to try the Sicily, or the prettyful as an alternate.
I think I am in love!

This comes at the perfect time since yesterday I cleaned out my purse makeup bag yet again because of broken and scattered blush. Great solution to the travel problem — the light and clear Prettyful seems the best match for me.

Venice beach would be just the right shade for my olive skin. The name conjures up a sunshiny California beach full of tanned and fit bodies. This will be great for summer touch ups without carrying a brush to re-apply the blush.

Many years ago my dermatologist told me to never, ever touch my face and if I do, make sure it’s kept to a minimum. I have always remembered and adhered to this advice. (I rarely get breakouts or cold and flu symptoms; of which I attribute to this medical advice.) The first thing that came to mind when I saw this blush on disposable paper was the fact that one would get a fresh, clean and sanitary application each and every time. This is very important, especially when applying makeup close to the eye area. What’s not to love about that?

I tend not to wear blush–haven’t found anything that really looks natural on me. Even in my fifties my skin is
pretty oily and I have large pores and the color tends to settle into my pores.

Okay, I’d like to try this, and with the shade Prettyful, I think. I’d love to see how it would go, putting it on with a sheet, instead of a brush! They are LOVELY colors.

What a great concept! I love the fact that it’s paraben and talc free too. It’s hard to the colors from the website but since my face often has red blotches from psoriasis, I would choose more of a purple shade like Uptown or Venice Beach.

I’d love to try this in Sicily – it’s a perfect shade for me in the wintertime. I’m a makeup junkie & I’ve never seen anything like this before. Very innovative & not too heavy. I believe less is more as a woman matures. I like the portability of it too, & they have a point about the bacteria.

I would love to try this. My skin is getting older and it is difficult to find a blush that looks natural. Maybe this might be just the blush I need. I can’t make up my mind between Prettyful or Sicily. I think maybe Sicily would be the most natural look for me.

This looks fabulous. I work at a school and touch ups are so difficult because I don’t carry a make up kit, “sicily” looks absolutly perfect! Sometimes I don’t have the time for makeup in the morning and I sometimes have morning duty outside and don’t do my makeu until I’m done and this would just speed up the process. I bet all the other teachers would just love it too!
