It’s a difficult time because all changes (in terms of signs of aging) seem accelerated. Wrinkles are deeper and therefore more visible. Lines around the eyes make me look tired or sleep deprived, and the sagging jowls is a real ego deflater. I am not an overweight person, but you find LOTS of skin all of a sudden in your lower face and jawline! First off I used to have combination skin and now it’s very dry. I have little wrinkles in places I never would have thought possible. One of the worst differences is my skin tone. I always had the proverbial peaches and cream complexion and now I have spots and my tone is so uneven. I could go w/o makeup even 5 yrs ago and people said I looked the same regardless. Not anymore. After 50, I noticed my ” expression lines” became canyons! The smile lines that bracket my mouth are sooo much deeper. I never thought I could look so old! I looked so young, younger than my years, all my life. But dis-ease and pain have taken their toll on my face and so quickly! Years of caring for my skin having a cleansing, treatment regimen, and my face has fallen apart in a couple of years.
Changes I have noticed include deep creases in my forehead from years of playing tennis, wrinkles around my eyes and feathery wrinkles around my lips…I am bothered more, ironically by the eyes and lips than by the forehead…I would look so much better without all of those pesky little lines around my eyes and mouth. OH, how I miss my young skin. Since, I have noticed some sagging. I am always pulling my skin up with my fingers to see how much it has changed. I have fine wrinkles, a lot by the sides of my nose. To be honest, I have seen many changes over the last few years when I passed age 50. After going through menopause early, never wearing sunscreen when younger plus smoking for 15 years of my life as well as not eating properly all these have made my face look old, dry full of wrinkles and loss of firmness. Bags and wrinkles under eyes – hate them!
After turning 50 something, fine lines were more visible and harder to ignore. There was also the reddish discoloration of the outer corner of my eyes. Facial muscles just started to react to the loss of collagen support! I would welcome a wrinkle eraser anytime!

Changes noticed?…many changes during the last 5 years…but mostly how much slower my skin heals…with many many years of brazillian coast sun bathing…and now residing in Colorado US, my skin surely has spots and wrinkles…but before, when I was in my 20s and 30s even with so much sun exposure, and sal water , my skin was always healing so fast from burning and mistreat…after 40s, and now at 50, my skin doesnt heal as fast, actually almost doesnt “heal” back anymore…of course I take much more care since 40s, but still is very noticed that wrinkles set and is unfortunatelly cummulative the damage.
