{Tested} Louis Widmer Remederm Face Cream

—————————————————————————————————

“When you start going through menopause, typically your skin becomes drier and more sensitive,” says Dr. Dina Anderson, a New York dermatologist (read more, here). The reps at Louis Widmer, a Swiss skincare company, say they have the solution. Their Remederm Face Cream (retail value: $41) is designed to soothe “extremely dry, chapped and irritated skin” with a proprietary blend of vitamin A, vitamin E, panthenol, carbamide and biostimulines. Five FOFs put this face cream to the test. Did Remederm fulfill its manufacturer’s promises or leave our testers high and dry? Read on.

**Quick take: 4 out of 5 testers preferred Remederm to their regular moisturizer!**

JOANNE NOTHNAGLE – Penfield, NY

Was this product easy to use?
Yes.  This product was easy enough to apply.

Did you see a difference in your skin? Was your skin softer and less dry?
No, not that I noticed.

How did it compare to your normal moisturizer?
This moisturizer has a nice texture, but once I applied it, my skin looked and felt greasy. It did not soak in, even after some time had passed.

Did it provide relief for your distressed skin?
Not better than any other product I’ve used.

Would you continue using this product? Why or why not?
No. It was greasy and my boyfriend did not care for the scent or feel of it on my skin.

Would you recommend this product to other FOFs?
No.

RITA KING – Kingwood, TX

Yes, very easy. The enclosed spatula [helped.]

Yes, within a week my skin was softer, less dry, less irritated and more supple.

How did it compare to your normal moisturizer?
It is slightly better.

Did it provide relief for your distressed skin?
Yes, and rather quickly.

Would you continue using this product? Why or why not?
Yes.

Would you recommend this product to other FOFs?
Yes, overall it worked well in a short amount of time, it is reasonably priced and did everything the literature promised. It acted more like a cosmeceutical at the price of a regular moisturizer.

LISA THURMAN – Friendswood, TX

Was this product easy to use?
Very easy.

Did you see a difference in your skin? Was your skin softer and less dry?
My skin was definitely softer and less dry. I felt relief immediately on the dry, itchy areas on my face. [It made the] redness less noticeable.

How did it compare to your normal moisturizer?
This product offered me better results than my normal moisturizer.

Did it provide relief for your distressed skin?
Yes, noticeable [relief.] My skin is much improved.

Would you continue using this product? Why or why not?
Yes.

Would you recommend this product to other FOFs?
Yes, especially for those experiencing very dry and itchy skin.

JANE HARDIN – Millis, MA

Was this product easy to use?
Very easy. It goes on like silk.

Did you see a difference in your skin? Was your skin softer and less dry?
My skin seems smoother. I [also] tried it on my back where I recently had some moles removed, leaving a few light scars. The cream seemed to speed up the process a bit. I also tried it on my upper thighs where the skin is often dry and it seemed to help.

How did it compare to your normal moisturizer?
It definitely is richer than my previous moisturizer.

Would you continue using this product? Why or why not?
I would probably reserve it for the colder months and use a lighter one in the spring and summer. It “feels” expensive, so price might be my only reservation.

Would you recommend this product to other FOFs?
Yes, but would advise anyone with oily skin to be aware [that it’s rich].
