{Tested} Peptide Wrinkle Concealer Duo Wand by Clientele

Clientele, claims that its Peptide Wrinkle Concealer Duo Wand (retail value: $30) will “lubricate away crow’s feet,” “protect the delicate tissue around your eyes,” “fight the appearance of wrinkles,” and, if that’s not enough, “It’s a wonderful base to hold eyeshadow fresh all day.” Each stick comes in two shades, neutral and tan, and contains a “special peptide” promising to “erase your age” without overdrying skin. But what did our FOF testers think?

Were the directions given to you clear and understandable?
The directions were clear and understandable but not complete. The product was thick and sticky and I felt like I had to pull my skin too much to apply it.

How quickly did you see results?
After about 3 days of use, I stopped using it on my eyelids and instead, just used it over my outer eye creases. The cream filled in the creases immediately.

{click here to read all the reviews!}

Did the product meet or exceed your expectations?
I used the product for 3 weeks. I don’t believe it actually improved my skin, it just temporarily filled in the wrinkles.

Would you use this product again?
No.

What could make this product better?
I’m not sure. It was just a temporary cover-up and I would like to see something that would help to soften lines and wrinkles more permanently.

—————————————————————————————————–

Image

Were the directions given to you clear and understandable?
The directions were understandable, and the concealer was very easy to use.

How quickly did you see results?
I used the concealer now for two weeks and noticed great coverage immediately.

Did the product meet or exceed your expectations?
This product exceeded my expectations. I love using it on my eyelids [as a primer] and it makes the eyeshadow I apply in the morning last until evening.

Would you use this product again?
I would definitely use this product again.

What could make this product better?
I have no improvements. It works just as it is.

What was your overall experience with this product?
Positive. My crow’s feet are diminishing and unlike other concealers I’ve tried, it does not give me a white-eye effect. I do not feel it is greasy or too heavy. I am very pleased with the results and will definitely purchase and continue to use it in the future.

—————————————————————————————————–

Image

Were the directions given to you clear and understandable?
Yes.

How quickly did you see results?
Immediately.

Did the product meet or exceed your expectations?
In some ways, yes, others, no. It was a little greasy and hard to blend in, almost the consistency of sunscreen. At first I thought even the neutral shade went on too light but after it settled in (and I blotted the greasiness), I noticed that it gave very good coverage to my seriously dark circles.

Would you use this product again?
Possibly, if they made some changes to the ingredients.

What could make this product better?
Perhaps they could use an emollient other than petroleum so it would be less greasy.

Please describe your experience with this product.
Besides that it was greasy and hard to rub in, I was pleased with the results and excited that I might have found an even better concealer than the expensive one I currently use. But, unfortunately, after a few days, I began to develop psoriasis on my eyelids (an off-and-on problem, that I haven’t experienced in many years). It seems that putting petroleum products on my eyelids has caused psoriasis flare-ups. I didn’t check the ingredients prior to using the Clientele product, but after the flare-up, I checked and, sure enough, discovered that it was petroleum based. Once I stopped using it, the psoriasis quickly disappeared. If this company would switch their formula to an organic emollient base, such as beeswax or plant oils, I think this product would be a winner! But in the meantime, I will stay away from it because of the reaction my skin had.

—————————————————————————————————–

Image

Were the directions given to you clear and understandable?
I was initially confused by the instructions. “Apply under the eye. When absorbed, used the handy sponge applicator or wand to gently pat concealer under eyes.” This lead me to believe there were two products; the one that I apply under the eye and the concealer to pat on after the first was absorbed. Once I asked and got that straightened out, I was okay.

How quickly did you see results?
I never did see it “lubricate away crow’s feet.” However, it did give me a nice unblemished base under my eye to work from.

Did the product meet or exceed your expectations?
The product was not what I expected. It was too thick and sticky for my skin type. However, I didn’t expect it to absorb into my skin as much as it did, so it ended up okay. It was also very white, and made me look a bit scary until I applied some foundation.

Would you use this product again?
I would not go out and purchase this, but I will most likely finish using what I have.

What could make this product better?
A lighter texture and consistency.

Please describe your experience with this product.
This product reminded me of the ‘pancake makeup’ that actors wear. I felt like I was preparing for the stage rather than my daily life. I am sure the product is wonderful for the right skin type, but the area under my eyes is thin-skinned, and this was simply too dense. The consistency made it hard to get just the right amount on my eyes and I needed to spend a lot of time blending it.
—————————————————————————————————–

Image

Were the directions clear and understandable?
Yes.

How quickly did I see results?
I did not notice any results.

Did the product meet or exceed my expectations?
It neither met or exceeded my expectations.

Would I use it again?
No, I would not.

What could make it better?
If it was creamier so that it went on more smoothly. Also, I wish it did not get lighter in color as the day went on.

What was your overall experience with this product?
I found this product hard to use. It was quite firm and was hard to apply. When I tried to dab it on my skin with the applicator, I felt like it was pulling. I tried patting it on with my finger and this worked slightly better, but I found that it was going on much too thick.

Also, it kept getting lighter in color as the day went on. A couple of hours after I applied it, I looked like I had pale circles under my eyes. As an eyeshadow base, it was okay.

—————————————————————————————————–

Image

Were the directions given to you clear and understandable?
I felt the directions supplied were very confusing. They contained directions for two different products–wrinkle treatment and firming eye cream. After reading it several times, I wasn’t quite sure how to use it, or what to expect. The fact that the cream had two compartments with what seems to be the same product was also confusing.

How quickly did you see results?
I do not feel that there were any lasting effects with this product.

Did the product meet or exceed your expectations?
No.

Would you use this product again?
Probably not.

What could make this product better?
Better directions and a more spreadable consistency. I was not able to easily blend it into my skin.

Please describe your experience with this product.
The product did not blend very well on my skin. Once I was able to blend it using a combination of my finger and the sponge provided, it did provide some coverage of fine lines and brightening under my eye. However, I can’t say there has been any permanent reduction in fine lines and crow’s feet.

—————————————————————————————————–

Image

Were the directions given to you clear and understandable?
No. Visually, I couldn’t tell the difference between the two compartments and there was no labeling on the box. Of course, I eventually figured it out, but for $30, I’d hope for more clear instructions.

How quickly did you see results?
I really didn’t see a difference at all.

Did the product meet or exceed your expectations?
I had hoped this 2-in-1 product would be better than others I have used, but it wasn’t.

Would you use this product again?
I don’t think I would purchase this product and prefer what I was already using.

What could make this product better?
This product would be a lot more user-friendly if the compartments were labeled!

Please describe your experience with this product.
I really did want to love this…

I am a certified crop cnsnultaot, and work daily with growers who grow crops, and control weeds or other vegetation. Long before Round-up was introduced, the concept of resistent weeds has been a challenge. To cut to the chase, anytime you use just 1 mode of action to kill a weed, the chances that species will adjust and eventually evolvolve into a plant that can survive that mode of action is greater. This is not only true of the use and mis-use of roundup, but any chemical and a few mechanical methods of weed control. To blame a company and a product is irresponsible! The blame falls squarely upon the end user. Face it, some growers just are not smart enough to realize that if you mis-use and abuse a product such as Round-up (Atrazine was in the same boat 30 plus years ago), that product will become dud. From day one, Monsanto and other herbicide manufacturers highly recommended that multiple modes of action to be used in weed control, to avoid the current issues of weed resistence. Unfortunately, Round-up was too cheap and too easy to use. I witnessed professional crop advisors, and some not so professional, just go the easy route in their recommendations and just recommend multiple passes of Round-up over multiple years. IMO, they deserve the restistent weed issues. Cost of weed control is a major factor also. With the ever tightening margins on the farm, many growers who suffer from negative cash flows just look at the price they pay for weed control now, and fail to look down the road at the fallout that they will face when that resistent weed shows up on their farm.So I guess what I am saying is, Round-up, Monsanto and all the other herbicides and their manufactuers are nothing but symptoms of the problem. The problem lies in the end user.Kevin H

Whenever you advertise a product for a giveaway, I always do some research to find out as much about the product as possible. I always know that whatever product you have chosen for a giveaway would have to be spectacular so I wanted to see for myself what makes this product so appealing. Once I read aa little about the technology behind the product and saw some before and after pictures, I was sold.

It makes me happy to know that I can get rid of the beginnings of my turkey neck with a wonderful beauty product as compared to undergoing an expensive procedure. So this is what I learned and it is truly amazing:

Strivectin-TL is a clinically proven anti-aging neck & jaw line treatment to visibly restore firmness, shape and contour.

It’s sad to think that after the age of 50, a little over 75% of all women start to experience loss of elasticity and firmness to the skin in their neck. This is simply a part of the aging cycle and no amount of exercising or working out will change that. However, there is hope for us women who want to rid ourselves of that ugly, sagging, crepey looking skin that has somehow become thin and loose over time, simply by using a new and innovative skin care product, rather than undergoing a surgical procedure.

Many skincae companies claim to have developed products to correct this problem but Strivectin-TL seems to be the real deal based upon the before and after pictures I viewed. What makes this cream so different from all the rest is that it is based on a Breakthrough Three Tiered Technology, where the cream is loaded with scientifically-targeted tightening ingredients, such as NIA-114™, which uses advanced technology where the cream works much harder and smarter to tighten your jawline.

    Strivectin-TL works to TIGHTEN your skin’s surface, delivering an instant firming effect; it FORTIFIES the skin matrix, noticeably enhancing neck and jawline contour;
and Finally, it STRENGTHENS your skin’s ability to retain its natural collagen and moisture with a substance developed and patented by Strivectin named NIA-114™, which restores a lifted, more defined look to one’s neck.

This product sounds amazing, which is what I would expect from a company known to be at the forefront of advances in skin care technology

Thank you for the opportunity to possibly test this amazing product. The one thing that can really age a person is the condition of the skin on the neck. One’s face may be as smooth and lineless as can be from fillers and maybe some surgical procedures but if the neck isn’t worked on as well, your age will definitely show. I hate the fact that I’m loosing the nice contouring I once had around my jawline and I generally wear accessories such as scarves to cover up my neck. How wonderful it would be to tighten the neck with a cream and be confident in the way my face looks again so I don’t have to choose my attire based on what will cover up my neck.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. Good Luck To All.

Considering that necks and hands are the two big “giveaways” when it comes to indicating aging — and I’m no exception — this would be an interesting test. I did buy the original StriVectin when it came out a while back…the problem often is that you don’t see that much change just from one pot. To which the answer is: you need to buy more and give it longer to work. Hmmm!!

Anyway, considering my youthful (and size 4) bod has somewhat of a “turkey neck” atop it, I’d be interested in giving this a whirl.

I would love to try this or anything that would naturally tighten up loose skin under my neck, at my jowl line or upper eyes. Growing older – gracefully – is not as easy as the simple words. In today’s workplace it is important to look your best while at the same doing your best. And it’s funny how looking your best brings out the best performance (and high performers look young and energetic!). So bring it on – I will definitely put it to the test!!

The rejection thing, and I think the fear of becoming involved with someone while I knew in my heart that I could not trust any man again. I have a personal trainer, am updating my clothes, and I need to get my skin toned. I was hoping to get a few more years before having to either learn to live with it or try to do something more invasive. It really sucks to feel pretty good but have your appearance work against that! From what I have read so far, the options for neck tightening procedures other than surgery, are not super impressive. Skin’s ability to fight sagging, hold natural collagen and moisture improves. So you see more lift.”

Hate my turkey neck with a passion. I cringe when I see it. I’m 58 and foolishly always promised my girls that I would never have cosmetic surgery on my face. “I’m going to happily accept growing old” I would say cheerfully. That was before the crepey neck appeared.

At 50, I’m starting to get the dreaded loose crepey skin under my chin and along the front of my neck. I know that if I don’t find some way to stop it, I’ll wind up with the dreaded turkey neck very soon. I’ll definitely give this cream a thorough test.

If it works, every FO50 I meet will know about it! I’d be more than happy to do before/after photos and lend my photo and testimonial to the manufacturer if the product fulfills its claims!

I am on a mission to “out” the products that are expensive and not worth the $$. I wish there was a credible authority to help and I truly appreciate the comments from FOF ladies. The reviews have saved me some $$ as well as made me feel confident with some purchases.

I don’t want to undergo any plastic surgery, so I am a gullible consumer when it comes to big claims. Can this product REALLY make a difference topically? We’ll see…..

Despite keeping the rest of my body fairly firm with exercise and healthy eating, my neck looks like I am 20 years older. At 59, below the neck I have maintained well, and I don’t even have too many facial Lines, but when I developed some disc problems in my neck years ago, it looks like my neck has the skin of a neck an inch taller. I would love to try this, as I am open to anything but invasive surgery. A real challenge is that I can’t even wear turtlenecks, as the excess skin still shows up, aack.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving tomorrow – I think that the only thing that should have a wrinkly (?) neck is indeed a turkey, and not me! I just celebrated my 55th birthday last week, and I am noticing a little bit of “gobbler neck” appearing. If I could catch this early, it may not get any worse. So by me testing this product, I could possibly prove to others that early prevention is the best thing for them!
