03January   {Tested} Vincent Longo “Diamond” Body Spray {Test This} Beecology

A diamond is a girl’s best friend...but is ‘Diamond’ Body Spray by Vincent Longo (retail: $35 on Soft Surroundings) an FOFriendly beauty product? According to Vincent Longo marketing materials, the spray “adds glamour to any look” by “illuminating body skin with instant sparkling highlights.” Is this shimmer a winner or was it no more than a glimmer of hope for our FOF beauty testers?

Did this product work for you?
I love this product–easy to use, very light and airy. It makes me want to wear a v-neck sweater and show off!

Did you like the effect it had on your skin?
It gave my decolletage a little extra sparkle and made it not so naked looking. It feels like a powder, not sticky.

I am very happy with the product and would use it again. I recently saw it for sale in a Soft Surroundings catalog and was delighted I had already tested it! I like the silver best, it goes with my brunette hair and skin tone.

Would you recommend it to other FOFs?
I’d recommend it to everybody.

Did this product work for you?
Yes.

Did you like the effect it had on your skin?
It sparkled--but I didn’t seen any difference in the quality of my skin other than that.

What could make this product better?
Better delivery design–the directions say to shake the bottle but when you do, the glittery sparkle goes all over the place.

Would you use this product again?
I would use it again, but, it isn't something you wear everyday. It is definitely a dress up and sparkle item.

Would you recommend it to other FOFs?
I'd recommend it to FOFs, but honestly, it seems more suited for younger, smoother skin.

Did this product work for you?
It gave my skin a sparkly look that was pretty. It comes in a beautiful bottle that I love and will keep.

What could make this product better?
A lower price point. I'm assuming there are other products that come in tubes [less expensive packaging to produce] that give the same for a lower cost.

Would you use this product again?
No. It's out of my price range.

Would you recommend it to other FOFs?
It is a lovely product but the women in my circle would not be able to afford this product.

I’ve always had really dry skin my entire life. When I was little, my skin was so dry it was white and flaky and there was only one girl in my school who had worse skin than me. I used to have what I called “chicken skin” – lots and lots of bumps that just wouldn’t go away no matter how hard I tried to scrub them off with our pink scrubbrush. I would end up with raw red skin with bumps all over them. I think I scrubbed my oils away. I also had no idea that soap was my enemy.
Then in my teens I discovered baby oil and it seemed that no matter how much oil I would put on after my shower, the red bumps on my thighs, the back of my calves, and the back of my arms were always there.
In my twenties I bought every lotion known to man and even spent alot of money at health food stores searching for the right remedy to no avail.
When I hit my forties, I walked into my first Bath and Body Works store and tried my first bar of gel soap. I was hooked. They smelled great, they were cheap when they were on sale for a buck a bar and for a couple of years my skin felt halfway decent for a change on a good day. Summer was alittle better than winter and with a good tan, my favorite soap, baby oil after the shower and lotion, I occasionally had a day with dry skin bumps, but every so often I would have a day that when somebody touched the back of my arms in a hug, they didn’t recoil in horror.
As my luck would have it, Bath and Body Works quit making my gel soap that worked and I couldn’t afford what the hoarders were selling it for on Ebay so there went that.
It’s the age of body washes and although they are OK, I am back to the rough itchy skin (especially in the winter) of my youth. In order to cure my ailment, the ideal scenario for me is to slather on at least an eighth of an inch of shea or bodybutter on my skin at least 6 times a day but I can’t very well walk around naked all day to keep it from soaking in to my clothes so I am on a quest for a better way.
Since I am from Cleveland, what better person to try Beecology’s new product?! Maybe they made it just for me!
(and just for more info – and this is a fact =I have every lip balm known to man within reach in every room in my house, in my purse, in my car, and in every pocket of every jacket just to help with the dry cracked lip problem….)

I would love to try the Beecology products, as I’m always on the lookout for hand cream and lip balm that work well during the cold, dry winter season. Also, I’m more interested than ever in natural, chemical-free products because I think they’re better for me…and the environment!

I live in the mountain west which is great for skiing but horrible on skin. I particularly have problems with torn cuticles. I work with children and wash my hands frequently which further worsens the problem.

Living in the frigid northeast, my skin is extremely dry for 8 months of the year. I would love to see if these products can help my moisture-deprived skin and lips. Although the colder months are the worst, my fingertips constantly crack, bleed, and refuse to heal completely throughout the year. I’ve found only one product (out of the countless number that I’ve tried) that alleviates some of the painful cracking.
