FOF Jamie James is giving away her brilliant Cellfolio cell phone case from the Jamie James Collection. It doubles as a wallet AND keychain. Enter to win by answering in the comments below: How old were you when you got your first cell phone?
“My life requires me to be organized,” says FOF Jamie James, a divorce attorney and mother of four in Andover, Massachusetts. Yet Jamie admits that on occasions she’s misplaced her bar license and had trouble getting into court. “I’d stash my license and debit card in my pants pocket for easy access, but I’d forget to take them out when I got home at night.”
In 2010, Jamie noticed her daughter, Caitlyn, a junior at Princeton, carrying her credit cards in a plastic cell phone case, behind her Blackberry. “I started to do the same, but I was used to carrying leather Tory Burch and Kate Spade bags--this plastic jelly case didn’t really fit my style,” says Jamie. A friend suggested that Jamie design something more her taste.

“I had a big wish list,” says Jamie. “I wanted this case to hold cards, be made from high-quality Italian leather, be manufactured in the U.S. and fit a variety of phone sizes so you wouldn’t have to throw it away if you upgraded.”
Nine months later, in July of 2011, the Cellfolio was born. “It was truly like a birth,” says Jamie. “It was hard to get all the components to come together.”
The hard work paid off. In less than a year she’s sold 7,000 “Cellfolios,” hybrid wallet and cell phone cases that come in five different styles and over a dozen colors. Each Cellfolio holds three cards, and some styles have an exterior photo ID window. It fits any size smart phone.
Jamie sells the Cellfolio exclusively through her website and at speciality shows around the U.S. “I think people are looking to minimize now more than ever, and I was ahead of the curve on that,” says Jamie. “I only carry my Cellfolio now. It has really simplified my life.”

This looks like a great idea, especially when you don’t need a big handbag.
It has been 10 years.
Very cool looking,awesome and different.
Oh My Gosh, My 1st cell phone was in 1997 and it weighed a ton! Quite the Dinosaur and I remember when I would get a call, I would say , Hurry and get to the point, this is costing me” Big Time! Lol
At 36, I purchased my first cell phone. It was a big year for me. Major surgery was required and my children went to stay with their father for 7 weeks while I recovered. The cell phone was a necessity for me to be available for calls from them. It truly added to my recovery and I haven’t been without one since and my children still call me!
I did not get a cell phone until I was a caretaker for my in-laws and had to be reachable. I was in my early 50′s.
Gosh! When I got my first cell phone/mobile phone, they had a long cord and were big. At least 20 or 20 plus yrs. ago. I lose my phone in my large handbags, and this would be wonderful. I would carry it to fun events, like horse races, karaoke, the casino……by the way, your family pic above is stunning! LOVE it! Cool idea, you’ve got a WINNER!! Thanks for this WIN opportunity!!
I had my first cell phone eighteen years ago.
I was 42 with my first Nokia and within a couple years of that got the ‘super cool’ Motorola Razr……
HAH Now I would be lost without my smart phone.
I have always wanted to use a cell phone like my friends but because I became Deaf at the age of 12, I could never use one. Then in 2004 I received a cochlear implant which, after many years of training, enabled me to hear on a landline phone. Finally, about 4 years ago, I developed enough confidence to purchase and try out a cell phone. I am proud to say, after much practice, I can now hear and use a cell phone just like my friends!
I was about 50 when I got mine.
It was 18 years ago, and it was a “bag” phone, to be used
strictly in emergencies!
Just got a new phone so I need this!
Oops I forgot to answer the question…I got my very first cell phone in 2000 I think.
I don’t remember exactly, but it was over ten years ago.
It was a Christmas gift……and I think it was 1992……I was thrilled!!!!
I think I was 38 when I got my first phone.
I have two Jamie James cellfolios! It’s so nice to not have to remove my phone from it to talk. Saves me an extra hand and now I never lose my phone or credit cards.
I would think the cellfolio would work really well for Moms who are pushing strollers, schlepping diaper bags. etc.
Spread the word! http://www.jamiejamescollection.com
Believe it or not, i got my first cell phone 16 years ago. It was as big as a cordless phone of today and was bright neon yellow!! I still have it, so if you want a picture, i would be happy to send one! I’m really excited about this new idea.. i have been wanting to downsize my purse, but havent found anything to carry the essentials.. maybe this is it!!
A perfect product. WOW! Who wouldn’t want one? I know I do…
THANKS.
Oh, the years… Oh my. Let me count. 21 years ago. WOW, I feel old now.
I can’t count the years, but it was when they first came in a bag with a chord! That was a long time ago!
My husband and I got our first cell phones about 18 years ago. They were the big ones, and looking back now, very funny looking!
I actually got my cell phone in 1988 because I was in real Estate. couldn’t give my number out because I had 35 minutes a month!
I got my first cellphone as part of my outside sales job in 1987. It was a huge thing with a battery pack that plugged into my car, and it had a rotary dial!!
About 15 years ago, I think?
I just started with a cell phone. Would love this.
I remember having that huge bag phone ! how many years ago was that ! ? quite a few. now I wonder how i ever got by without a cell
This would be perfect for the soccer games & track meets I go to!
Great solution to a constant problem! Actually my ex was vp of a telephone company in FL, we lived in Malibu and I remember driving down PCH with this GIANT phone…attached to a GIANT box…thinking it was so cool!
I’m thinking this was about 1989. The whole thing would never have fit in my purse! LOL…the hand held part was like the old time receivers on your home phone…then you had to carry this big box around!
These are great! Love ‘em. Nice color choices too!
First let me tell you, I hate telephones, all of ‘em,landline, cell phones…..my husband forced one on me 5 yrs ago(I was 48) for emergencies and I still have the same one( I just buy my minutes) It’s not a camera or a computer or a videogame player, just a phone hahaha!! This case would be perfect for my boss and she LOVES her phone
Probably around 40 or so. It’s been so long and my mind is going!
I was about 50 when I got my first cellphone. That cellphone was gigantic and the phones today are so easy to carry. Your new cell phone case/wallet is the answer to many of us who just want to take their phone and money and run out of the house. Love love love it.
1996 and it was a brick! (I was in my early 30s)
I’m 62, and still don’t want a cell phone, but think this would be a great way to carry my iPod.
I was 45.
You cant even buy them yet they are so new! I searched high and low and there is no way to purchase online. Oh, please send me one! I loose my phone and subway passes all the time. It would be great if they were all in one compact place!
i was in my 40′s. i would love the case, as i have no case right now.
Wow , it was probably fifteen years ago ! I like the case!
I was in my 40′s before I had a cell phone. 44 I think.
omg, love the case!
I have to say that I am not even sure what year, but I do remember that my first cell phone was one of the first ones NOT mounted in the car . It was almost as big as a small clutch purse is, and heavy. Coverage areas were spotty, even in the house and yard. Wow, I haven’t thought about those days walking around outside trying to get a signal in years.
I think this is great…. no more digging in my handbag if I win this Cellfolio Cell Phone Case!! Talk about organization….
I was 46 and still had a landline. Now it is my only phone.
That would be so nice to win. I currently carry stuff behind phone case. LOL
I was the “first on my block” to have a cellphone in 1990. Some of my girlfriends’ husbands had them for work, but none of the ladies carried them. It was about 22 years ago; I had three very young children and was on the go with one thing and another. My husband was frustrated by trying to catch me at home, a buddy of his was a sales rep for a phone company and I got signed up.
I shared my first cell phone with my mom!
Believe it or not. I was 41.
Geez, it was so long ago I can not remember. But man have they changed over the years. They were much bigger and you basically could only talk with them. I love the holder/wallet/keychain that will allow me to grab it and go or throw it in my mammoth bag where it may not get lost as I can use the keychain part to attach it to my purse strap. No more black hole!!
Can you believe 42 years old. I’ll be 53 tomorrow.
So cool, love it. No more purse.
