London-based beauty company Molton Brown is known for its fragrant hand and body washes; now its making a splash in the anti-aging market with a new body care collection (retail value $216) for FOFs. All the products in the collection are made from kopara, a rare ocean algae found exclusively on a coral island near Tahiti. Kopara produces exopolysaccharides to shield itself from UV rays. It can also do wonders for FOF skin, according to Molton Brown reps, who say that products formulated with this super-algae will “protect from age-accelerating pollutants, promote healthy-looking skin, and are clinically proven to reduce the signs of aging.”

I would so love to test this product! Despite the fact that I just turned 50, I was rocking a bikini up until last summer. Illness had me on bed rest for six months while hubby had us on a steady diet of take-out and fast food as he struggled with the day-to-day tasks of running the household. The medication I am on has a side effect of weight gain, so between the two, I have put on 30 unwanted pounds. While I have begun a gentle exercise regimen (I also have fibromyalgia), along with returning to a healthier diet, I have a long way to go to tone up and tighten up. And my hands! They are in dire need of restoration due to my years of nursing and betadine scrubs. Even my neck and decolletage area have aged. Thank you for the opportunity!

Glad you have this contest. I’ve been meainng to send this suggestion but haven’t gotten around to it until this incentive came along. You are doing a good job at the Coop of sourcing many items locally, or as locally as possible. I would like to see the coop source even more items from local growers and producers, and less items from out of state or out of the country. Obviously there are many items that can only come from far away. But I’m sure there are still more items that could be obtained closer to LA. Thanks, and keep up the good work.
