10July   {Giveaway} More than a necklace…

—————————————————————————————————

I can be an apparel snob. I shun certain fibers, I stay away from oversaturated brands (initials RL) and I’ve never bought a single piece of clothing from a shop-at-home-channel. Then I met FOF Marla Ginsburg and fell in love, not only with her personality and style, but also with the clothes and accessories she’s designing for HSN, under the label MarlaWynne. You read that right: HSN, as in Home Shopping Network!

I swear HSN isn’t paying me to write this. When Marla showed me her new collection a couple of weeks ago, I gushed over practically every piece, from her unstructured jackets and shirts with outstanding detailing to pants that fit just so and look like they came off the racks at Neiman Marcus. The prices are ridiculous. Think $89 for a top you’d wear to a night on the town.

A former TV executive who lived in Paris for 17 years (lucky girl!), Marla turned to clothing design because –like most of us—she couldn’t find anything that looked right on her FOF body, yet still had a distinctive look. Her versatile silhouettes cover just what we want covered (she calls them “icky bits”) and they’re modern, stylish and fabulously comfortable without being oversized and clown like. Her colors are definitely in!

I invite you to judge for yourself by tuning in to one of Marla’s shows on HSN, Wednesday, July 11 from 8 to 9 p.m. (EST) and Thursday, July 12, from 9-10AM (EST) and again from 6-7PM (EST), or just go online and shop till you drop.

In the meantime, I’m personally giving away two of Marla’s Convertible Belt/Necklaces to two lucky FOFs. (Sometimes designers offer us pieces for giveaways, but this one is coming straight from me to you. I bought them on hsn.com. That’s how excited I am about this brand!) Twenty-one smooth, big beads—in silver or brass tone—are strung on a sturdy cotton thread. The piece is about 70-inches long and looks smashing circling the waist or around the neck. It stops traffic every time I wear it. I even tell admirers it’s from HSN. That’s called Reverse Snobbery.

Just tell me which color you prefer and how you’d wear it to enter.

I have the America’s Test Kitchen Family Cookbook, and it is awesome. Hopefully I can win this one too and have a matcihng set! I do make resolutions, I’m just not super about keeping them. But this year, I’m trying to spend less, save more, get fit, and spend more time with my family. Easy, right?!

The silver tone would look better on me as a belt – I’m tall and prefer something a little unusual to accentuate my waistline.

like the gold tone and would let my wife have it. She would most likely wear it as a belt. She loves different stuff like this

I’d love the silver tone, and I’d wear it with a dark tunic and leggings! Oh it would be adorable.
