A bra wardrobe and expert fitting

Kathie M. White Department stores or whenever Victorias Secret has a sales. Finding a good bra is a challenge!"

My favorites are always getting discountinued too!

I wish I could go without a bra, can never seem to find the right fit, but the professional's @ Norstrom's are wonderful and so helpful....this would be a fun prize!

Macy's

I recently had a bra fitting at a small lingerie boutique in a nearby town and the experience was life-changing. I found I was wearing the wrong size, and the wrong style for my figure. Now I buy either from there, or find the same styles for less online.

On the clearance rack wherever I can find the right size. I know--that's a terrible system.

Lord and Taylor, or Macy's. Dillards if they're on sale!

My most recent purchases have been at Victoria's Secret--my boyfriend and I joked about them being like Sherman Tanks! I'd love to have bras that fit well, feel good, and make me look fabulous!

I haven't actually bought a new bra in years! I am desperate! I was buying them at Victoria Secret, but I want a bra that fits my age; pushed up and together doesn't show as well as it did in my 30's!

I am on an unending search to find the perfect bra and have made purchases from every department store, website, etc. in existance. I have yet to find it and would so appreciate winning this wardrobe!!!

Walmart. Boy could I use this bad.

Usually a discount store like Shopko. Although I recently bought some at Catherine's.

I usually get my bras (and everything else) at Sam's.

Usually on line or at a Belk store. I'm thinking about getting a Breezy bra on QVC.com.

Nordstroms, they have a huge bra department and USUALLY very helpful clientele

Anyone that has them on sale! I really need some new bras, and I never seem to get thr right lift or fit :)

I can't believe I'm saying this, but it's true.....I buy them at WalMart...sigh.

Belk Stores

I usually get them online because amazon has a great selection but I have never been fitted for bra and think I sould be

I buy my bras in a department store

Penneys

I generally buy my bras at Nordstroms or Victoria Secret

I buy them at various department stores - always trying this brand or that brand in the never-ending search for a comfortable, "it fits" bra. I'm beginning to think that it's like the "pot of gold" at the end of the rainbow - ever elusive.

I used to go to a multi-brand outlet store. I tried a "specialty" store, but the young saleslady, even though she measured and brought me many to try, could not fit me comfortably. Most recently I ordered from two different on-line locations. My main annoyance is that when I do find a bra and size that fits, it stops being manufactured, and I can't buy it anymore!

Lane Bryant and Walmart.

Walmart. Never been fitted for a bra........

Wherever I can find one that fits!!!! Nordstrom doesn't always carry my size.....

Purchase online.

I bought a Wacoal at Nordstrom. I am not veryy happy with the fit and don't feel that there is enough push-up.

Lord & Taylor or an Outlet Mall -- Maidenform. I'm ready to try the Ahh bra on some info commercial!

Amazon and online bra shops. I love the convenience of online but realize all fit differently. Am in search of the perfect minimizer that doesn't provide a uniboob shape! And sexy enough but functional! Where oh where can that perfect bra be?

JC Penney

Lane Bryant- they have a great fit.

Sadly enough i buy them off the clearnace rack anywhere. This could explain the disomfort of myself (and others) due to bad fit and appearance. But at least I'm not bouncing too much!

At Macy's, TJ Maxx or Marshall's -- almost always Calvin Klein.

Mostly Target.

I try on many bras in the fitting rooms at the Marshalls and T.J. Maxx Boy could I use a REAL fitting and some really good bras.
My "girls" could deal with some real respect about now!

The Pussycat in Squirrel Hill, Forbes Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15017

Wherever they are cheapest! I really do despise bra shopping, as no two brands are the same in size.

At La Petite Coquette in Greenwich Village for the ones that fit properly and are a splurge and at outlet stores for the ones that don't.

Wherever I can ,whenever I can online, Macy, Sears. I've even bought one or 2 in Target :-). Sometime they're a good fit, sometime not. I want to feel sexy without looking lumpy.

Oh mylanta, I am a hot bra mess. I buy them anywhere, last purchased was Sunday at JC Pennys. I've never been happy. In fact, I bought my daughter an original piece of modern art in Soho for her college graduation...a painting featuring six bras. She has the bad bra gene too!! I just died when I saw it...I about die when I look at my bad bra pile. Could make art of of them!

Lane Bryant

Always buy at a department store. Even though I was once a certified bra fitter for Marshall Field, I believe in having someone assist me. Too many of us buy the wrong size, even if we think we know what we're doing!

Younkers.

I usually get mine at Kohl's.

I buy my bras at Nordstroms or Macys.

Tj Maxx or Marshalls

Most recently at Soma - their fit seems pretty good to me but there are times the underwire drives me crazy!

I buy them either at Macy's or Nordstrom.

One lucky FOF will win! To enter, answer in the comments below:

"I have purchased my bras at Lane Bryant and I have never been happy with the measuring nor the quality of most of the bras in my drawer. Why would someone pad a bra for someone who wears a 46 DD? Sometimes the fit I get is so wrong, and then I am stuck, because I have paid a fortune for it. I never know if am I purchasing for the cup size or am I purchasing for the width above my ribcage/stomach. Tired of the nips showing through cheaply made underwear. I would so love to be measured properly and receive the right undergarments for my clothing. I know it would make me feel more confident in myself, give me a little pep in my step, and I will feel like the beautiful plus sized woman that I am."

It's working good so far, as the elastic in the bra is still fairly new. I imagine it will eventually start sagging...along with me :) I actually agree with "Maxine" when she says...the best bra is a T-shirt. "

"I'm ashamed to say that I haven't purchased a bra in years. I wear a jogging bra or none at all which is horrible. But lack of finances plus not knowing how to find the proper fitting bra is an impediment in purchasing new bras. It used to be that you could go to small stores where all they sold were bras and the saleslady would fit you. She knew exactly what she was doing. Today, you're on your own so it's so hard to pick out the right one for yourself. I become frustrated and then end up purchasing nothing. I can definitely say that I NEED a new wardrobe of bras desperately. Thank you for the opportunity to possibly win this very generous contest. Good Luck To All!!!!! DLori27 kleimanlaw at aol dot com"

I had a breast reduction 17 months ago. My breasts got very large due to medications (which consist of steroids) I take. I had a fungal infection which would not heal. I am a transplant recipient and this was a major concern for my doctors. I would appreciate winning this contest to be able to enjoy the comfort of the correct fitting bra."

We drove as if the back of the car was on fire to her bra store, where I was fitted with a bra size I said had to be wrong. Of course, it wasn't and fit like a glove. Last February I had bi-lateral mastectomies and reconstruction with tissue from my abdomen. I am much smaller, much to my delight. I need to be refitted by someone who knows what they are doing. So it would be a great time to see someone for some new, lacy, pretty, perhaps non-underwire pebble holders!"

As My Mother used to say, shall we go & stop @ the ladies shop for our, "unmentionables." OH MY, is she surprised NOW by ALL the body parts talk!! & the WAY they're talked about !!! It especially unnerves her & ME TOO.... when everyone tells ya WHAT they have to do in the bathroom !!! Why do ya think they have doors/ NO ONE needs to know WHAT it is you'll be doing in there ... & NO ONE CARES!! Yes, folks my age is showing..... I will not allow anyone in my presence to say " I have to "_," when the urge comes upon them. I speak my mind & find it all too TACKY !! TASTELESS ! & just plain crass. My granddaughter, has been advised..... & of course, she does indeed live elsewhere.....so I don't know how she says it when I am not in her company... BUT I mentioned to her that I think there are very FEW LADIES...... around these days... when it comes to our actions & conversation, regardging the normal body functions that should remain private,@ least in MY opinion.... hence those "unmentionables." I am STILL considered "middle aged"... & not my dear friends, in my 70's or even in my 80's..... but a rather happy, early 60's."

"I purchased them in stores when I first started wearing bras, as there was no online. I wore the same style & brand through many years (and sizes). When the style was discontinued, I was so upset and purchased the balance of a local lingere store's inventory at the time. I've since tried a number of brands/styles (all underwire), usually purchasing them online or through a catalog. Being overweight presents additional challenges, but once I find the best fit, I can reorder as needed."

"Where do i buy my bras? That is a good question. I have been a single parent that never received a penny of support so I have always had to be creative in making ends meet. But, that doesn't mean I don't spend good money on quality products. Buying Bras for me is like seeking out the impossible:( I don't have the average measurements. I am petite, small boobed, but have enormous broad shoulders. It greatly affects finding bras that actually fit. Even most of my blouses I have to let out under the arms because they're too tight! I will say I don't shop at Victoria Secret, see they feel people with little or too much boobs don't count and have removed that size bracket!?! One of their pushy sales reps even told me I need a 34B. I am not a "B"-don't have enough to fill it, and 34 would choke off my circulation. I definitely need a push up bra, I nursed all three of my kids and well gravity has taken over, lol! Shopping for bras has become a nightmare for me these days. Even shopping online has not been a good experience. Companies have started using poor materials that literally disintegrate while wearing them. The cheap lace fabrics snag and rip out. The sheer nylon fabrics just literally unravel before your eyes. The one brand I did become a fan of has started to follow in the poor quality suit of all the others. So I am in the market for a new source!"

Unfortunately, I never could find any bra at either of those stores that fit right. I shop to the Department Stores from time to time, but the bra's I like are like 65.00 which is back where I started pre-reduction. So now I end up buying something that sort of fits and looks the way I want them to at Target. Certainly more reasonably priced. But not completely satisfying or supportive"

I swear, I have been to every department store as well as a local specialty foundation shop in order to find this elusive garment. I salivated when watching the Oprah "Bra Intervention" episode - so envious of those chosen few women who were being fitted by experts. My poor girls are sooooo tired of being pushed, pulled, prodded, attacked by underwires and stuffed into ill fitting bras that they would go on strike, if they could. HELP!!!!!!"

"I buy bras every 2-3 years and I buy in quantity. I usually go to the department store and I go when I know I have a few hours to spend because I can never seem to find exactly the right fit. I try on hundreds to find the 5-10 that work. It is time for me to go again and as a single working mom with a 9 year old, finding the time is difficult. I was fitted about 20 years ago at Saks and the bra was beautiful and fit perfectly, but it was $130! I couldn't bring myself to spend that much on a bra and have not had one on since that came even close to that one. I didn't even know there were people who actually were certified fitters! What a great thing! "
