Joya Spa at the Montelucia Resort, Scottsdale, AZ

“This spa is incredible. When I entered the resort, I felt as if I’d been transported to Andalusia, Spain: Olive trees and fountains fill the courtyard; romantic Spanish music plays in the background; and architectural details, such as dramatic antique doors, come from historic Spanish castles.

Image“The spa’s open, airy treatment rooms, overlooking Camelback Mountain, recreate an ancient Moroccan bath, called a Hammam. Before my treatments, I walked down a seductive, softly lit pathway for the Hammam ritual of hot steam and cool water (to sweat out and then wash away my toxins). All my other treatments were wonderful, but my faves were JoyAmbrosia, an exfoliating sugar scrub, followed by a moisturizing nectar applied with a soft brush, and Cherry Harvest, a sour-cherry anti-oxidant wrap, followed by a moisturizing cherry plum body soufflé.

“Once I was completely relaxed, I sat at the Terrace Café overlooking the pool and ate the most amazing Truffle French Fries. True indulgence!”

Montelucia Resort
"I just got back from this amazing resort. I won a four day three night stay.Everything about this resort is spectacular. Our room overlooking the pool and mountains was big and comfy the bed and linens so easy to sleep in. The over sized bath and soaking tub with a large stoned shower. I took full advantage of my stay I had two 50 minute massages the first day I spent 5 amazing hours in the Joya Spa alone. I sat by the pool everyday. We had breakfast on the terrace. I hope all the lovely Fab ladies can experience this Spa. We had such an incredible time. Relaxing I can add that word to my bucket list. My husband really enjoyed the fitness center. He told me this fitness center is the best he's ever been in. Thank you Fab Over Fifty. We had a remarkable vacation. The views are breathtaking. I even climbed a canyon and lived to tell about it. I will most certainly post pictures. I wanted to say thank you before going to bed. It's almost 2:30 AM. Good night. Pamm"

"This spa looks wonderful. I moved from Fountain Hills, AZ in 1990 and knew all of the resorts in Phoenix. When was this resort built and what is the street address? I would love to venture there on my next visit. Thank you."
