You will need to take layers beginning on the outside with a good rain jacket. Jeans or khakis will be fine and you will want a versatile sweater you can layer for warmth if needed. It is a pretty good bet you will not need anything sleeveless. On the cruise the public rooms can be chilly so a wrap to cover you at dinner is a must. You will need comfortable walking shoes and probably ones you can wear with socks to keep from getting mosquito bites on your ankles. Add insect repellant to the list. Ultrathon is a good one.
Remember your camera and a small pair of binoculars to get you up close with those whales and bears.
Also on a cruise you will always need to have your cruise card with you so a small handbag is helpful. You will use it for trips to the casino or show. The same bag or one that you can carry cross body style or on your back will leave your hands free for getting off and on the tender boats.
I hope this helps. I have been to Alaska several times on cruises and my company, You Go Girls! specializes in travel for women. Get back to me with any more questions.

One little note. I agree with everything the Guru has mentioned, but I would like to add one thing. On the glass dome train you don't have space for luggage/carry on above you - that's the glass dome. So any carry on needs to fit under the seat. If you are doing any stops along the way, luggage is usually delivered to you.
You might want to start checking the weather for the trip a couple of weeks before you go. Check your excursions stops and other cities. It will give you a good idea of what you may need to pack for clothes.
My mother, sister, my husband and I did one that started from Fairbanks then made stops at Denali National Park before joining the cruise ship in Whittier. We enjoyed it and I'm sure you will too.

I will add a couple of things to the other responses - walking shoes should be waterproof; pay attention to the packing instructions, as some of your luggage is sent ahead to the cruise port; also, you don't have access to your luggage during your land tour except at night, so keep daily needs with you in a backpack. Sunscreen is a must and a hat might be helpful. Have fun!
