terryhavon asks

I a looking for a yoga or Pilates vacation (prefer all inclusive) in the U.S. I want to go in late December, January or February, so my preference is somewhere a bit warm. Does anyone have a good suggestion.

If you have some flexibility with timing, I would absolutely recommend the Ojai Yoga Crib - The teachers are stellar and the setting is quite special. Kira Ryder has put together something unique and not to be missed. http://www.lulubandhas.com/yoga/crib/.

Ellen, do you have an affordable recommendation as far as where to stay.

Yes! Try the Hummingbird Inn and get a AAA discount or an AARP discount OR this place is quite special - http://www.ojairetreat.com/ I would book early and ask for the Crib discount. If you do go, please say hello to Kira for me! You will be in for a treat.

I wrote 'quite special' twice!! You will need a car probably or let them know you won't have one and they can help with car pooling.

Thank you Ellen! I am definately going to check this out. I had hoped to go to Hawaii, but the airfare is $1200 and is therefore way out of my budget range.

Monroe, NY, is not warm in the winter, but in the midst of the Catskill mountains sits a small, spiritual place that offers yoga classes at least 3 times a day, taught by skilled teachers for all levels. It's called the Ananda Ashram. It is a calming, nurturing place for introspection and pulling away from the jangling stress of the ordinary life. You can feel the peace when you walk the grounds, or when you meet in the communal dining room for a vegan meal and conversation with people from all walks of life and all corners of the globe. It's inexpensive by "get-away" standards, and the inner peace is free for the taking. I stayed there after a winter blizzard, and the grounds were beautiful, shimmering in the sun. I recommend it highly for a yoga retreat and a spiritual adventure.

Deb: I've been attentive to your other posts at FOF and I believe you are just a fabulous gal! This recommendation in NY sounds stellar but, then again, it is exactly what I'd expect from you. It is so good to have a fellow grey-haired FOF here!
