Since I went through my change, then got cancer, had chemo and radiation, and the different meds I take, making love is so painful I can’t do it ! I can’t use anything with estrogen because of the cancer and have tried other things like Replens, but none of it works. We can still do other things but it’s not the same as making love. I have suffered from Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder (HSDD)ever since I entered menopause and began bio-identical hormone therapy. I devoted a significant amount of time, energy and money in my quest for an answer, a solution, a treatment. I consulted numerous physicians and specialists and experimented with various pills, injections and topical medications. Sexual toys didn’t do anything for me. Nothing worked.
In August 2014, I decided to actively participate in a multi faceted Washington DC campaign advocating the Federal Drug Administration’s (FDA) approval of medical treatments for this condition. In October, the FDA convened the first ever patient focused meeting on this particular female sexual disorder.I was chosen to be one of the women to tell my personal story about the impact of HSDD on my life and relationships. At that time, FDA was in the process of evaluating Flibanserin the first drug in line for approval of the treatment for this condition. Flibanserin was ultimately approved.
I’m still in pursuit of the holy grail and very interested in trying Fiera.
