I asked the good people at Olay if they’d like to send a gift box of Pro-X products to the FOF women we interviewed for the launch of faboverfifty.com. I thought it would be a good idea for my new friends to try Pro-X and report back. A number of FOF women e-mailed thanks after they received their gifts and said they’d definitely use Pro-X. After a few months, I emailed again to ask if they’d be willing to share their thoughts.

Tester: Marge Ghilarducci

As a 68-year-old woman with a 50-year-old spirit, I am concerned with looking the best/youngest that I can.  I am not, however, brave enough for surgery or needle injections. I have focused on testing the products of various cosmetic companies that will mostly improve my skin texture and overall appearance.  I have tried more than several different products from various cosmetic companies both from department stores as well as the drug stores.

I had been using and pretty happy with the Olay Definity line, until Olay ProX came on the market, promoted for “older skin”.  Naturally, I just had to try it.  I started with the introductory kit and found this line really did help moisturize my skin and soften the texture.  After using the line for several weeks I found my skin was really soft, wonderful to touch, and overall brighter.  Small spots that were recently emerging lightened to not noticeable. I do get comments on my complexion.

I have turned my husband, Cris, onto Olay moisturizers.  He is using ProX Discoloration Fighting Concentrate and Olay Total Effects.  I have taught him that skin moisturizers are not for women only.  His skin certainly has brightened since he has been using Olay products.

I started using the Pro-X products the day I received them.  So far I'm pleased with the results.  Since face creams have become sooo expensive, I've attempted to develop a list of criteria that a product needs to meet before I ‘invest’ in it.  However, the problem is how do you know if a products works until you use it? You don't. It's a leap of faith...sometimes a very expensive one.  Having the opportunity to test the new Pro-X Olay products was a real plus.  Below is my ‘cream’ criteria... so far Olay gets straight A’s.

Hydrates, softens and absorbs quickly
Day cream must contain an SPF of at least 30
Doesn't burn my eyes
Feels good and has little or no scent...AND MOST IMPORTANT
Results...is it worth the investment (and, in some cases, these creams are an investment)

My mother was a loyal user of the original pink Olay hydrating formula for over 30 years.  She'd have loved the new age repair Pro-X lotion in the pump. No need to dip your fingers into a jar; hopefully, helping to keep the cream free of bacteria. If I look as good as my mom did into her 90’s, I'll be thrilled with Olay's new Pro-X!
