"It's a tragedy that we aren't born with the knowledge that we develop over a lifetime. By the time we 'get it' we may not be in a postion to do anything about it. I wonder where that 'Bird of Youth' goes to in his old age! No matter the cards we are dealt in life, there are some things we cannot change. They are out of our control to some extent. However, we can control how we deal with these events and try to either ignore them and carry on or be determined to overcome them by applying all our energy to proving fate wrong! I've accomplished more in my sunset years than all my springs put together! Age is just a number...OLD AGE is how you feel about yourself as you count the years. AGELESS is how you view life. Always look ahead for new adventures and opportunities using the experiences of those years, despite the rigors of pains and aches, and appreciate each day the Good Lord decides to afford you. As for the younger generation, the older I get (and hopefully that will last quite a while), the more I realize that I wasted so much of my youth thinking I had a lifetime to catch up. Not so. YOUTH is the time to take the bull by the horns and experiment. You always have tomorrow to put it right! On Borrowed Time: at my stage of life, you become more and more aware of the time you have left on this earth and become more introspective everyday. Fortunately, your memory tends to fade a bit and, wonder of wonders, you always remember the GOOD things you did in life. Freudian perhaps? I try not to dwell on the end of life as a rule, but look forward to each day as a gift, determined not to make the same mistakes again! I can't wait for tomorrow!"
