Giving Bras for Women in Need

Indiana- You’ve got to love a plastic surgeon who collects new and gently used bras from his patients to distribute to homeless and other women in need. Dr. Gus Galante, who practices in Schererville, IN, is part of an affiliate network of surgeons working with Breast Oasis, a non-profit organization, to donate bras throughout the country.
Bras collected at Dr. Galante’s office are inspected, sorted and laundered for packaging and delivery to charitable organizations in Northwest Indiana. Interestingly, bras are the least donated articles of clothing to women’s shelters, yet they’re among the most expensive necessities for women.
Dr. Galante is a natural partner for this innovative and worthwhile cause since he is in daily contact with women whose bras no longer fit them, following breast augmentation or reduction surgery.
For more information or to make a donation, call (800) 721-3244. Donated bras are accepted at Galante’s office, 322 Indianapolis Blvd, Suite 103, Schererville. Or visit www.breastoasis.org.
