I agree with Dr. Sukkar. Botox is very useful in many parts of the face to paralyze muscles and prevent the creation of wrinkles. Although I have experience with botox injections at the jawline to create a slight lifting of the face and decreased jowling (also termed Nefertiti lift), I have not had any experience with botox injections for the nasolabial lines (folds of the cheeks).
A filler, such as Voluma can lift the cheeks in order to make the folds less apparent.

    Hi!
Botox is great to address the lines created on the forehead, between the brows, and crows feet (around the eyes). It sounds as if you would be a great candidate for an injectable filler to address the folds below the nose.

Most common fillers to use in this area are Juvederm, Radiesse, Restylane, & Perlane. The cost per syringe ranges and the number of syringes needed varies depending on the amount of correction needed. Most fillers last about 6- 18 months. The average cost per syringe is about $600.

    All the best,
    Sam M. Sukkar MD, FACS
