I am a 62 year old woman who was just given a diagnosis of severe osteoporosis of the spine. My mother who is 93 has this and seeing how she is suffering with what this condition has done to her body I would like to know if breast reduction and lift plus a tummy tuck would help me now to avoid what she is going through? I am following a healthy diet, taking Fosamax and exercising everyday but fear that this might not be enough to ward off the rashes caused by oversized saggy breasts and very weak abdominal muscle tone. What are your thoughts?

I sympathize with your mother’s plight. I assume you are large busted to ask this question. If so, breast reduction can certainly help you with your pain/discomfort level and the weight on your shoulders and upper spine. You can certainly undergo simultaneous tummy tuck, though core muscle training should also be a part of the process for the sake of your spine. I hope this has been helpful to you.

hello, and thank you for your question. Yes in many instances breast reduction surgery can provide excellent relief for some of these symptoms. In addition to that,if you have some loose abdominal skin and fat a tummy tuck may also be beneficial. I would recommend that you seek out a qualified board certified plastic surgeon in your area for an inpatient physical examination and consultation. Best of luck.
