    Dear Ms. Garrett,
Age in of itself is not a reason not to have an abdominoplasty or tummy tuck, so as long as you are healthy and in good general condition without any medical problems such as diabetes is very safe to undergo an Abdominoplasty as an outpatient procedure. I have found that my patients related well speaking to other patients In their age group undergoing this operation. I have operated on patients in their 70s which have done very well after this procedure.

There is no age limit for surgery, what counts is your health. Are you overweight, do you have medical problems? If you are healthy, your medical issues are stable on medication and you are a normal weight, get an in person consultation. You age is only one minor factor. Talk to a board certified plastic surgeon first.

Age is a very relative factor when considering an elective surgical procedure. If you have no other coexisting medical problems and you have have extra skin and fat in your lower abdomen that would benefit from a tummy tuck, then you would likely be an excellent candidate for surgery. This is best determined at a consultation where an adequate history and physical exam could be performed.
