I just turned 57 and am feeling the need to “freshen” my face. One issue for me is bruising. I work full time and do not want to have to explain to anyone why I am black and blue, nor do I want to take a week of my limited vacation time to wait for bruising to disappear (I tend to bruise easily). Also, surgery is not an option. I will only go into a hospital for major health reasons. So, given these limitations, any suggestions? Let’s face it (no pun intended) my eyes are puffy, my laugh lines are deepening and my chin is starting to sag. Luckily I have decent genes, so most people think I am in my late forties or early fifties.

Genetics plays a major role in our health, including the way we age, and good for you if your parents have passed on this advantage to you. There are numerous non-surgical options available to address your concerns. These can be performed in an office with minimal to no down time. See your favorite board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your concerns. Without knowing your specific issues, Botox, fillers, chemical peels, a high quality skin care regimen, and other treatments would be a good place to start the discussion with him/her after your evaluation.
