I’m thinking of having breast implants removed because they have become uncomfortable. What is the procedure, and do you usually put smaller implants in place of the existing ones?

Thank you for your question about removing your breast implants. There are several approaches depending on your situation. 1. if you don’t want implants any more, they can be removed. A small breast lift is usually a good idea as the skin will have stretched. 2. If you like the implants but they are too large for you now, changing to a smaller size is easily done. 3. if the implants hurt because of a capsule (hard scar that can make a breast firm and painful), release of the capsule may be needed – plus changing to a different implant or placing it under the muscle.
