I am 51 years old and have had saline breast implants for about 14 years. Under the musle. I bent over to move my chair a week ago and my right breast hit my knee and my breast has been in severe pain (same pain as when i got the surgery) pain when i move at all , breath, or cough. Wondering if it is a sign of a ruptured implant or just torn muscles? Can an implant shift from where it belongs and cause pain? It still looks ok . Its been 5 days and pain is not getting any better. Thank you for Any help or advice ?

I recommend following up with your surgeon regarding this matter, you shouldn’t take any chances.

Only an examination in person will help you know what happened.

Dr. Jacobs has already posted a response with which I concur. Give it some time. It is possible that it is just a bruise and might not be related to the implant at all.

If your breast is roughly the same size, then a rupture of the implant is unlikely but not totally out of the question. It is also possible that you may have torn a portion of the scar capsule around the implant. If your breast is in any way changed from its normal shape, it is is a possibility. It is unlikely that you have torn a muscle.
If the pain persists, you should definitely return to your surgeon if possible. He will examine you and suggest some possible diagnostic tests.

    Good luck!
