Hey, I’m doing research and presentation for plastic surgery.
My question is what is the earliest age for people to get plastic surgery? And the reason for them to get it.

Plastic surgery is a problem solving specialty, we use our own creativity and ingenuity to solve problems of shape, form and function.
Plastic surgery, named for the Greek word plastikos, which means to mold or change. The goal of plastic surgery is to correct or restore that which nature or fortune hath taken away.
I have operated to correct the cleft lip of a newborn, create a flat smooth abdomen on an 11 year old who had a disfiguring scar from childhood stomach surgery, created more feminine curves for a 35 year old who never developed, and rejuvenated the facial features of a lovely aging husband and wife so they could engage their mature years with confidence and vigor. So, you see, the answer to your question is diapers to walker, head to toe. That’s the beauty of plastic surgery, it offers something for everyone.

Well, this is an interesting question with a wide ranging answer. I am going to have to make some assumptions that when you refer to plastic surgery you are thinking mostly of aesthetic surgery or surgery for cosmetic reasons. Certainly, plastic surgery is done birth onward for a wide variety of congenital issues as diverse as cleft lip and palate as well as many other birth problems. In the realm of procedures done for more of a cosmetic nature, an otoplasty to set back protruding ears can be done in the younger ages, usually somewhere around 8 years of age although that can vary. Rhinoplasty can be done in the mid to late teens for someone with a significant problem and once again the age can vary a bit depending on the problem and level of maturity of the patient. Enlarged breasts in young males are surgically treated in the teen years frequently if the condition warrants surgery. You can see by the above that it is not just a simple answer but has to be based on the problem as well as the age of the patient along with a wide variety of other factors which go into making a decision regarding timing for any surgery. Hope this answer helps a little bit.

Plastic surgery is done at all ages depending on what the reasons are. If you have a congenital deformity, your surgery will be done while still an infant. Cosmetic procedures usually start in early adulthood from nose and eyelids to breasts and liposuction, all motivated by the patient’s desires. So there is no set in stone answer for your general question.
