CASH SAID:

I have dreamed about having surgery since I was 18 after i had my first child, 21 yrs later I’m ready to jump in head first. Im in the nyc, long island area.
I attended a consultation and was told i had a hernia, a went to a specialist to get a second opinion and was assured ….its a hernia. Can anyone recommend a surgeon that performs surgeries in a hospital , since my coverage covers the hernia , I would like an abdominal (tummy tuck) reconstruct and tighten my tummy, a non mesh procedure would be great, since i hear the mesh can cause more pain. someone who does more of a muscular tummy not flat , breast augmentation, smartlipo/fat grafting for bulges around my waist, bra back area, under arms a little. the smartlipo/fat grafting would not be major as i weigh 145 lbs and pretty fit.( a mommy make over). my question … since my coverage covers the hernia and for the plastic surgery i would be paying out of pocket 1. how many surgeons are allowed to operate on you in a surgery room 2..is it possible to find a surgeon who can do the entire procedure 3… since the procedure is being performed with my hernia surgery , how much money should i expect to save? also 4….lol how do you find an american board certified surgeon in nyc, that also does surgeries in other countries example in the dominican republic since the cost is 50% more attractive then doing it anywhere else? as for the hernia surgery i would have that done in nyc hospital? I know this is long but i really need your help.

Thank you for your questions. Dr Monasebian is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who operates both in hospitals and outpatient surgical facilities. With respect to your questions, he would have to examine your abdomen and then propose procedures. The hernia can certainly be repaired at the time of the abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) as well as the other cosmetic procedures. Please keep in mind that insurance companies do not reimburse for cosmetic procedures. Please call our office to schedule this consultation with Dr. Monasebian. We look forward to meeting you soon.

You are asking a lot of questions that would be covered in a complimentary consultation. Also, most plastic surgeons have hospitals where we operate, and if you have a hernia, then a general surgeon can do that and some of the costs would be covered. You would have to pay for the plastic surgeon doing the tummy tuck and the anesthetic part of the operation. Also, if your “hernia” is either a diastasis recti or an umbilical hernia most plastic surgeons can fix that at the same time and do the surgery in an outpatient setting.

As far as medical tourism is concerned look at my blog that quotes an article about deaths and problems abroad. If you go abroad for discount surgery who will take care of any problems you have when you come back here?
