They Thank Their Lucky Stars

“I’m a great believer in luck, and I find that the harder I work the more I have of it,” said wise Thomas Jefferson, implying that luck had nothing to do with his accomplishments. Not everyone would agree. Some of us didn’t have to lift a finger to reap rewards, and others consider themselves “lucky” because they managed to escape a horrendous situation relatively unscathed.
