Hi! Has anyone got an idea how to get rid off dark circles under the eyes? I am 51 and now it seems more difficult to cover them with concealers when I apply my make up.

I didn’t want to try and cover it with concealer, I wanted to treat it naturally, so
I tried several products, then my dermatologist explained that dark circles are best treated with Vitamin K. I found it at http://www.total-skincare-solutions.com, and it worked beautifully. Their eye cream also contains Arnica, and it helped with reducing the under eye puffiness.

I love it – and haven’t found anything else like it.

Hi Anahita, after you have tried all the suggestions below, if you are not able to eliminate the dark circles, there are some options that plastic surgeons like myself can offer. One is to fill the area under they eye with a very natural filler called Belataro. Another option is a laser treament on the eyelids to tighten them. I use the Smartskin laser which is very safe and effective for tightening the lower eyelids.

Dark circles are really hard to get it off. People often say, it because of lack of proper sleep but NO, its not the only problem rather there are many other factors too that contributes to your dark circles. Dark circles under the eyes tend to age your appearance more than eye wrinkles or grey hair.

Use of concealer is the temporary solution to hide them. However, you can still minimize the appearance of your dark circles under eyes and in some cases remove them completely. Here’s how.

Get your beauty sleep (important factor)
    Treat your allergies if any
Have a healthy diet enriched with vitamins C,D and E.
    Quit smoking
    Relax
    Use cucumber slices
    Apply cool tea bags
    Use a potato
Apply an eye cream containing vitamin K and retinol
    Drink water
    Wear dark sunglasses
    Avoid rubbing your eyes
Focus directly on the under-eye skin
If you focus few of the above, 80% of your dark circles will be banished! Believe me!

They say, drink plenty of water and get plenty of sleep, BUT,
if this does not work for you, you can do what I do.
My make up routine always begins with a primer, it’s a must do.
Smashbox is fantastic. It smooths your face beautifully.
I also recommend adding Two Face concealer after the SmashBox primer is applied.
I LOVE The Two Face concealer.
Although the Smashbox has the even out skin tones primer, I still also add the Two Face concealer for under my eyes because it really does work to brighten my eyes, naturally, no dark circles 🙂
    Best wishes, Linda

I have used my foundation as the concealer and it has worked to cover the dark circles. Although enough sleep would be a help as well.

Avon has a new product-Skin Revitalize 2-in-1 Brightening Eye Roller. It has a vibrating roller ball that diffuses the look of dark circles. They also have a concealer-Ideal Flawless. It comes in 13 shades and gives full coverage. You can get both products for 19.99-or less if there is a sale, as there often is.

I’ve had dark circles for many years. first of all, they are hereditary.
I’m just now trying the new Avon Elements Youth Restoring Anti Wrinkle Eye Roller. It seems to be working after only about 1 week. I think the roller device helps to stimulate circulation under the eyes and that probably is what is helping more than the cream. It’s good and not expensive and it’s brand new!

Allergies and nasal congestion can increase dark circles under the eyes. So if allergies are getting you now that it’s spring, treat the allergies and the dark circles should lessen. Also, not enough vitamin K and B12 can cause dark circles, so make sure you’re eating lots of leafy green vegetables: spinach, kale, cabbage etc. Try relaxing with cucumber slices or caffeinated tea bags on your eyes. On the coverup side, I’ve been using Dr. Jart BB Cream Premium and it provides such good coverage that I don’t need a separate undereye concealer.

    Hi Anahita,
This is a problem which is often caused by lack of circulation to the skin. The best way I have found is to use a brush when cleansing your skin at least twice a week. The Clairsonic is the most popular and quite effective. You can also get a baby brush at the drug store, and use it to gently exfoliate your skin and increase the circulation. Use a gentle cleanser, and take your brush using circular motion to remove dead skin and increase your circulation.

It is also a good idea to invest in a good eye cream. The one I like the most is from brianchampagne.com. It is a lovely cream that will increase the softness of the tissue by completely moisturizing, and will aid in reducing the dark circles.

After you rinse your face and neck, apply a small amount of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (about 1/2 teaspoon) to your face and neck. Should there be any excess, blot it off. You will discover an evenness of skin tone, a completely moisturized skin, and a healthy glow. Within five days, you will see a difference, and so will your friends and family.

    Good luck to you.

I would suggest trying Bare Minerals Concealer and the brush (very important) that they suggest for it. I have nasty rosacea and this covers it perfectly.

Bare Minerals you can get it at ULTA or online at Bare Minerals here: Brush: http://www.bareescentuals.com/Maximum-Coverage-Concealer-Brush/US30884,default,pd.html Concealer: http://www.bareescentuals.com/bareMinerals-Multi-Tasking-Bisque/USMasterBisque,default,pd.html IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!
