{Giveaway} Cellfolios

—————————————————————————————————

FOF Jamie James is giving away her brilliant Cellfolio cell phone case from the Jamie James Collection. It doubles as a wallet AND keychain. Enter to win by answering in the comments below: How old were you when you got your first cell phone?

“My life requires me to be organized,” says FOF Jamie James, a divorce attorney and mother of four in Andover, Massachusetts. Yet Jamie admits that on occasions she’s misplaced her bar license and had trouble getting into court. “I’d stash my license and debit card in my pants pocket for easy access, but I’d forget to take them out when I got home at night.”

In 2010, Jamie noticed her daughter, Caitlyn, a junior at Princeton, carrying her credit cards in a plastic cell phone case, behind her Blackberry. “I started to do the same, but I was used to carrying leather Tory Burch and Kate Spade bags–this plastic jelly case didn’t really fit my style,” says Jamie. A friend suggested that Jamie design something more her taste.

“I had a big wish list,” says Jamie. “I wanted this case to hold cards, be made from high-quality Italian leather, be manufactured in the U.S. and fit a variety of phone sizes so you wouldn’t have to throw it away if you upgraded.”

Nine months later, in July of 2011, the Cellfolio was born. “It was truly like a birth,” says Jamie. “It was hard to get all the components to come together.”

The hard work paid off. In less than a year she’s sold 7,000 “Cellfolios,” hybrid wallet and cell phone cases that come in five different styles and over a dozen colors. Each Cellfolio holds three cards, and some styles have an exterior photo ID window. It fits any size smart phone.

Jamie sells the Cellfolio exclusively through her website and at speciality shows around the U.S. “I think people are looking to minimize now more than ever, and I was ahead of the curve on that,” says Jamie. “I only carry my Cellfolio now. It has really simplified my life.”

I was about 40 or 41. It was 1990 and I don’t think it was called a “cell” phone. It was housed in a bag that looked like a lady’s shoulderbag and it was heavy. I don’t remember the manufacturer or the name of the phone company. As years passed, phones got smaller and lighter and a great deal more sophisticated. My daughter got me a “smart” phone with a touch screen and I am feeling my age just trying to use the thing!

I was the “first on my block” to have a cellphone in 1990. Some of my girlfriends’ husbands had them for work, but none of the ladies carried them. It was about 22 years ago; I had three very young children and was on the go with one thing and another. My husband was frustrated by trying to catch me at home, a buddy of his was a sales rep for a phone company and I got signed up.

Geez, it was so long ago I can not remember. But man have they changed over the years. They were much bigger and you basically could only talk with them. I love the holder/wallet/keychain that will allow me to grab it and go or throw it in my mammoth bag where it may not get lost as I can use the keychain part to attach it to my purse strap. No more black hole!!

I got my first cell phone about three year ago. It is a discard from one of my daughters. Nothing wrong with it, she just wanted something better. So I took it for emergencies only or a where are you mom call. I have never texted so being a fancy phone was not important for me, so an old hand-me-down is perfect!!

I was very resistant to cell phones. What can I say? I’ve always been a bit of a rebel. We got our cell phone two years ago – and it was an inherited phone from my brother-in-law! We still have that same phone (I share with my husband), although I carry. I don’t believe in supporting companies that charge ridiculous amounts of money for a product or service that actually costs them a tiny fraction of that charge.

I’m pretty sure it was around 1993 when I got my first cell phone – I still remember making my first cell phone call! I still don’t really understand any kind of wireless transmission and prefer to think that radios, fax machines, etc… just work by “magic”! 🙂 I would love to win this case because I am very much trying to “downsize” my purses and tote bags.
