29August   {What do you think of this look?}
We couldn’t miss this FOF visiting from Texas. We spotted her sporting a bright-colored sunshine tunic as she shopped in downtown New York City. Did our style experts take a shine to this FOF and her outfit? Read on to find out, then, tell us: Do you think her outfit is the best thing under the sun? Or a fashion burnout?

.
Glenyse Thompson: I love her whole look--confident, classy and comfortable. Perfect for any summer day...in any city!

Lovey Dash: I love the top with all its wonderful Sud de France colors. The white skinny jean and white tee under the top brings it all together. I like the big wedge sandal, although the nude color was too safe a choice for me. The oversized bag works as well. This outfit works for me rain or shine!

.

Sherrie Mathieson: This woman looks terrific! I love her ethnic tunic--which I consistently say is a universal style for all body types and ages. I love that she paired it with white pants which enliven the tunic's bright colors without fighting for attention. Her platform shoes are perfect (flat sandals would also have also worked here, too). The hoop earrings and large bag are just right as well. She truly shines!

Shelley Zurek: It's a great day in Texas for me! The tunic is so blousey, but paired with the form fitting capris and camisole in white--she nailed it. I adore the 70s-inspired sandal as well. I may have swapped in full-length, white skinny jeans since the capri shortens her nice, long legs.  I also find the bag a little large and might have preferred something in yellow or red. Overall, the bright top captures what appears to be this woman’s overall sunny personality.

Susan Sommers: A very cool look for a hot day! There is a lot I find appealing: the white jeans, the bright, happy tunic, the nude sandals...Often, on warm days in the city, women go too bare. This tunic covers up any less-than-perfect parts but still manages to give the impression of airiness. The accessories are spot on, too--big hoops, sandals that extend the leg, an easy bag. Nothing looks contrived or too over the top. Brava!

.

Susan Hersh: She looks so fresh and finely dressed. The tunic is well proportioned for the slim white ankle pant. The fashionable platform sandal and polished toes are perfect for walking downtown. Nice white bag to top it all off.

This outfit is perfect for her. I have no complaints. I wouldn’t wear the top, but then I’m not a blonde. For her coloring, the whole outfit is just stunning. Definitely an A plus!

She looks great. I personally never wear capris when I’m out and about. I like the long length look. If I want to be cooler because of the temperature, I will wear a skirt instead.
But to each their own. Red shoes would be awesome with this outfit!

At first glance I liked the outfit. But at second glance, I think the chunky sandals make her feet look big and out of proportion to the rest of her body. I think the bag could be smaller. She looks comfortable and happy, so that’s all that matters. :-)

She looks great! My only negative is that the heavy platforms shorten the look of her legs and enlarge her feet!

Agree with Shelley, the capri pants then added to the wedges with the ankle straps makes her legs look shorter than they are.

BRAVA! Everything about her outfit is perfect. This ensemble has become a total classic. Don’t change a thing!

10 thumbs up! Why does it take a woman from Texas to show New Yorkers how to dress? She looks awesome! The colors are great, the outfit hip and age appropriate. Definitely the best outfit in this column….

She looks like she is comfortable and that is the essential thing… I get so tired of City Black, City Gray…. but those wonderful white capri pants would stay white about 3 seconds if I wore them!

She looks really trendy & young for her age. Blondes seem to wear hot spring/summer colors & patterns better than anyone else EVEN if they aren’t thin or toned like this lady. Classy women
are modest, elegant & stylish, as opposed to the ones 50+ still trying to pull off the micro-mini with tall heels/boots, or worse low cut necklines exposing hideously oversized implants with wrinkly décolletage & loose under-arm bat wings.
P-I-T-I-F-U-L! I give her outfit four stars!

She looks cool and fresh in this outfit. I would not have chosen those shoes, somthing in a white, orange or yellow would have made this outfit POP!

I think the “flesh” colored shoes lengthen the leg. Otherwise showing the segments of the pants, the ankle, & another color would break things into pieces & shorten the leg.

This beautiful lady has it all and is dressed perfectly. I would change the shoes but it is a personal choice. I just do not like platform shoes at all. I’ve seen one friend break an ankle trying to walk in platforms and be fashionable. I give this lady an A +……quite lovely.

I agree with Shelley, that the bog should have a pop of color, and the capris tend to do her an injustice. Nice outfit, overall, though.

I agree with Shelley that the bag is too large. I’m not sure I like the design on the shirt personally but like the long shirt over the white pants.

Finally a look I can not find fault with!
re: comments: Aren’t capris shorter than this?
I don’t think she looks over 50 though (more like 29.)

I have a couple Tory Burch tunics and they’re great for summer. I’ve worn mine with cropped white pants, as shown here, as well as long white pants. The prints are hit & miss — this wasn’t one of my favorites but the lady looks pulled together and well accessorized.

I would love to just completely and totally COPY this entire outfit. I really think it looks great. I adore tunic tops, I have to admit it, I have a bit of a belly.. I MUCH prefer tunics.

Fresh and perky. Perfect pick-me-up for a summer stroll. The white color and retro top are fashion forward. I agree a little more color blocking with the wedges would be nice. Overall a hit!

I like everything except the shoes. Colour is great, neutral and funky but I think the ankle strap cuts the leg short or at least it would on me. My husband would love an outfit like this on me because it’s not black!

Long pants always look better on almost everyone than capris, however, on a hot summer day you need to stay comfortable.

She looks adorable. Anyone who would complain about this outfit should come to Owosso, MI, where I live-the capital of overweight people in camouflage, pajama bottoms and sweat pants. It’s nice to see someone who cares about how they look!

She looks bright, summery and beautiful. I don’t like the length of the pants, though – slim pants just below the knee or at the ankle are more flattering.

I am sure she packed a ‘neutral’ shoe for the trip, but flats always pack smaller, are comfortable for everything, and she’s tall enough without clunky platforms which detract. Popping the color with the bag and the shoes would have stepped it up, too – but there is only so much one can cram in a carry-on!!!

I agree with Shelly that the tunic top with the form fitting capris is great but I, personally, am not a fan of the pattern of the top. It’s just too much for me. And the yellow circle makes me look straight at her mid-section. I think something a little less buy with skinny white jeans and the shoes she has on would have been more to my tastes.

So cute! As for pants vs capris … I don’t know how anyone wears pants in hot summer! Too muggy, hot, icky sticky.

Completely agree! We’ve seen so many fashion flops on here. This lady’s outfit (and the lady herself) rocks!

LOVE this look for Summer errands. Very cute. I agree with Shelley that I would have prefered to see a long pant instead of capri in white but other than that- lovin’ the vibe
