{What do you think of this look?}

Meet our furry FOFriend! We spotted this woman in New York City looking quite cool…er…warm with her aviator hat and blazer decked in fur. But what do you think? Is her outfit fur better or fur worse? Answer in the comments below plus see what our style experts think.

Glenyse Thompson: Fur better, for keeping her warm. Fur worse, because the sleeves are too short. I would take that jacket to the tailor and convert it to a vest (keep the sleeves and have them converted into a clutch!). Then, lose the hunter hat. There are chic-er alternatives out there that are just as warm and stylish.

Karen C. Hughes: The fur is fun but styled all wrong. What bothers me more than the fur, though, are the leopard leggings paired with a t-shirt. It seems like she just pulled whatever out of the closet and put it on. I’d have to say this look is fur worse.

Sherrie Mathieson: I might say this cute FOF has all she needs with her nice figure and great smile. Her warm fur hat, scarf and biker boots are stylishly funky. But it takes all her lovely naturalness to offset the cheap look of the rabbit fur jacket, animal print jeggings, and the vintage bag.

Shelley Zurek: This woman has two great things going for her–she hardly looks a day over 25 and her boots are awesome. The rest of the outfit…umm…not so much.

Deborah Boland and Jojami Tyler (The Glam Gals): Fur-get this look! Call it haute hoser but we think this wacky looking thrift store combo is a mixed up mess. It’s much too teenaged for a grown-up gal. If she’s going for an eclectic look, we’d suggest an oversized leather jacket, bigger boho-style purse and a less bulky scarf to make her look cool in a more mature and tasteful way.

Lovey Dash: Her outfit is furry good. It looks like she is cold so where are her gloves? Speaking of which, I hope they are on the long side because her jacket sleeves look short. But all in all, not bad. The look is a bit cluttered from the chest up, but hey, I lived in New York and a girl must do what a girl must do to stay toasty. I’m letting her slide.

Not cute at all! I agree with the commenter who said, “yuck”. Even if the fur is fake, the look reeks of animal cruelty to me.

Love the Glam Gals comments. Good ideas.
Your “furry friend” does not look over 50.
I live in the city and have a hat in this style in black (worn up tho). Every time I wear it I get tons of compliments & “where did you buy it.” Mine is made of a plush black fake fur with black cotton, quilted inside- super warm- even, dare I say, glamourous AND I bought it from a stand on the street!

I like the pants and the boots. The jacket sleeves look a bit short. The hat is not something that I would wear and if I did my grand kids would think that I totally lost my mind!

I would like to meet this woman. She looks like a lot of fun. I might make some different style choices though. When wearing legging jeans like that, I would wear a longer coat, like something car coat length. Maybe in a nice navy wool, something a little more refined. But if the faux fur were longer (in the sleeves too) I’d be ok with that too, it just wouldn’t be as elegant as a wool coat. Then, I’d choose a different hat; this hat is best left for Everest base camp or a Denali expedition in Alaska. Or at least, Canada.

Fur shame she got caught going out in this outfit. It HAD to be a “throw this on I am just going for coffee and no one will see me” thing. Murphy’s Law in action since she got caught by fashion police.

A tee and leggings is good for laying around the apartment, but not on the street. The hat is strictly bad hair day fashion and that scarf looks like s mattress wrapped around her neck – too bulky! I agree with the remake of the jacket idea – that is the only salvation from this “I out-grew the jacket” look.

Cute lady, but remember to dress before going out and letting photos be taken as evidence!!

I like the furry coat, but it’s too short with her brown top showing through. The hat could be a nordic knitted one instead of so much fur that it’s overpowering. The scarf doesn’t really go with the young look as it’s the wrong color and texture. The purse could be bigger and leather like a punch of red or medium brown for contrast.

She’s cute! Not much thought went into this look. Grab-n-Go is what it looks like. The boots are cute. Purse looks to dressy. She looks like she is cold, opps, forgot the gloves?

Too much of a mismatch for me. None of it seems to go together. I will give her credit for attempting to stay warm.

The balance and proportions are all out of whack. Reminds me of a Wheeble, like she’s going to topple over in a light breeze. The leggings are fine but a blouse instead of the tee under the jacket which I would like if it were longer. Fur sure ditch the hat and maybe the scarf. The boots rock!

I think it’s a total mess but even worse if it’s real fur. So many
faux furs out there to choose from why participate in the suffering of animals.

UGH! I do not believe in wearing fur, but the whole outfit is just wrong. She is beautiful in anything but that outfit.h

I think that Glenyse Thompson hit the nail right on the head for me. It’s the length of the sleeves and then complicating the outfit with too heavy accessories. She’s adorable, herself, tho!

Agree the coat should be tailored into a vest due to the ill fit, love her boots & bag, however the hat, scarf and leggings are best left for another day. Also agree that if she is so cold as to wear that ugly hat & scarf, where are her gloves? Hummm. . . . . .overall thumbs down.

All I can say is Yuck! I don’t like anything except the purse and the boots. I do agree with Glenyse that that jacket would make a good vest, however.

I love the jacket and thinks she looks great in it! The leggings are ok with it too. What I find a little off putting is the gigantic hat and scarf. She looks like and I inverted triangle. I think a silkier scarf that would go with the more tailored look of the jacket would have worked much better. I think the hat is best left for the ski slopes…how about a nice fedora or beret? Again, think it would go with the tailored look much more smoothly.
