{What do you think of this look?} Seasonably simple or just plain safe?

Simply spring.

We spotted this FOF on Long Island, where she lives and works. She loves vintage and secondhand items– the bag is from a garage sale, and the earrings were $1 at a flea market.

Do you love her simple spring look, or is it just too boring? Help us decide– leave a comment below!

Lovey Dash: Not bad– she had the right idea.  Just missing an array of fab bangles and/or a heavy necklace… or some big fab earrings.  I like the slim pant and strappy caged shoes. The tunic works.  The bag is not my style, but she could be working and needs that tote!  SHE NEEDS JEWELRY, and BIG BOLD ONES AT THAT!!!

Lovey Dash is a Beverly Hills-based stylist. She was formerly in VIP sales for Louis Vuitton on Rodeo Drive.

Karen C. Hughes: She’s missing some pop pieces that will give her that “WOW” factor.  There’s no reason a woman can’t be comfortable AND stylish. It doesn’t need to be mutually exclusive.
Yes, it’s a bit seasonally simple, but she could take that great color earring and add her “wow” by either partnering it with a handbag that is colorful, a pair of shoes that are in the same hue, or even a multi-colored scarf.  As it is it’s just boring.  She has two base neutral colors with nothing to draw attention to her face with color– she needs something to POP!

Sherrie Mathieson: I am a big fan of simplicity. She looks very comfortable in her body tunic length skimming top, which is paired in good proportion with her pant and gladiator sandals. Her earrings relate well to the outfit and bag/shoes.

Deborah Boland: This is a washed out wardrobe choice for this pretty woman!  Nice outfit, but it’s bland. It needs some color and personality, so why not add a  fab necklace or some fun stacked bracelets and a less matchy purse?  A little make-up would also go a long way to perk up her look.

Susan Hersh: I like this woman’s understated point of view.  The tunic top elongates her body and looks great with this slim pant.  The black hand bag and shoe appear light and airy, as black accessories can be heavy at times.  Like the polished nails and toes but feel a little makeup would add color to her natural face and balance her light skin.

Shelley Zurek: I find it a very safe outfit. Nothing particularly bad, a great outfit for blending in.  That’s no fun… The bag is super cute and has lots of personality.  If she wants to amp it up, she should start with the purse for inspiration!

Terry Gibralter: I have one word for this FOF’s outfit—BOR-ING!  Safe is an understatement.  Not much thought needed putting this outfit together.  Shapeless beige tunic over black pants, the sandals are OK and so is the bag. I don’t know, maybe she was in a hurry and just threw on the first thing she could find, ditching makeup or any color whatsoever… Except for the green earrings, which are cute but a bit of a waste with this look.  I say she’s in need of a colorful spring makeover!

I like the general idea of this but the tunic is totally the wrong color for her. It would be great if it was a brighter color, like a nice Kelly green to go with the earrings. She definitely needs jewelry and a bit of makeup.

Nice simple elegant outfit. This would be perfect on business casual friday in downtown Houston, TX where I work.

This look is exactly what I am trying to get away from…that is why I registered for this site. She looks boring, especially with the lack of color.

She looks lovely. For me I would have done a little brighter makeup and maybe a wow scarf or necklace….but not everyone feels comfortable like that. At least she doesn’t look like she’s trying to look 20….

What look? Seriously, she grabbed stuff on her way out the door, didn’t even brush, much less style her hair, good skin is no excuse for no makeup, and never checked a mirror to see if some accessories would matter.

I like the clothes as pieces. But, the color of the tunic does her no favor. Her skin and hair fade into one with the tunic.

First of all, we have no idea where she is going in which case big bold jewelry might not be
appropriate. Some people are more comfortable without over accessorizing and in more neutral tones. Maybe she’s so confident in her own inner beauty that she doesn’t need
to load it on in order to feel good about how she looks.

Very dull, does nothing for her shape, this is a day at home doing housework outfit in my eyes.

Yep BORING. Put her hair up – tied with a bright floral scarf, a slash of bright lipstick and she’d look so much better but still be comfy.

I agree with most of the opinions above. Everything is great but it is jut too boring. A great funky necklace and some makeup would REALLY help her look. I love the tunic and pants.

I think she looks great, but boring….How about a pop of color or lots of metallic bling?

Appears that she may be standing in front of a school, and the look is fine for a busy teacher. The main thing is that she looks confident. A bit more color would be nice for a lunch date.

I like the tranquil nature of her outfit. All the recommendations for necklaces and bangles – meh – I know I cannot stand to have stuff around my wrists and neck. Maybe add a loose belt, not too narrow, with a cool buckle, slightly defining her waist? Or perhaps the bag could be changed for something with color or texture? Maybe a tooled leather tote, or a woven leather bag? But really, she looks classy, cool, and happy.

I completely disagree with the “experts” who want this woman to pile on jewelry to enhance this outfit. She has on a gold watch and gold earrings and that’s a statement in itself. She looks elegant. There is nothing wrong with “simple” if it is pulled off like this!

This is an outfit that I would grab… and I wouldn’t bother with jewelry unless I was going to a restaurant or meeting friends. But definitely I see now that the both of us don’t wear enough jewelry and should stop being so lazy!!!

This is an outfit I would pick for work – and in some workplaces the shoes are daring enough. I would add a necklace to help frame the face, perhaps a choker of big black beads. Or a long, flowy, lightweight scarf in a beautiful print with some black in it.
