usually a thick towel, shampoo, something that may have the name of the place i stayed at, believe it or not, my husband always takes a roll or two of toilet paper, i dont ask, lol, it always gets used. love these pouches, unique style and beautiful colors.

When I check into a Hotel I never take anything —- as I usually bring all I need with me I am not a light packer —- But I do take all of the small samples of hair conditioner, shampoo, soap – etc back home
with me. Then when I have guests over I put them out for them to use just in case they forgot something on their visit to me — You might call this more of my selective recycling program — LOL —

I love it when a hotel leaves a shower cap along with the shampoo & conditioner in the bathroom for my use. There is also the writing paper, 1 or 2-cup coffee packages w/cremora & sugar. Of course, I would never leave behind the extra soap and hand/body lotion, which usually has such a nice scent! What a waste that would be if it was thrown out, especially during these hard economic times!!

The shampoo, conditioner, soap, and any of the little bottles and samples of things, they have probably already been included in the cost of room and the management expects you to take them, so is not really stealing, like taking towels etc, would be.

I was kind of “put off” by the wording of this question because I don’t feel I “steal”. Yes, I do take the shampoo that I have opened and used, the same goes for any hand lotion I have opened and used. As far as the little bars of soap no I don’t take them, matter of fact I usually carry my own choice of body wash because I have found usually those little bars of soap don’t lather up enough to suit me.

Before I leave I gather together small bars of soap, small containers of shampoo, conditioners, shower gets, and hand lotions. I also enclude laundry bags, shower caps and any single baged coffee. I don’t consider this as stealing just free samples. I use the laundry bags for my dirty clothes and shoes.

I leave the hotel with anything that is not glued down. NOT REALLY…….I travel alot and usually will take the shampoo,conditioner,lotion and the small coffee packs. I refill the empty bottles and use them for other things like for paint,beads and other crafting projects. I always find new ways and ideas to use them . I could find many ways to use the travel trio. One for hair items, one for cosmetics and one for my hotel finds………..

However, I confess that last year when I was in Rome I did remove the bottle opener and a pair of terry cloth slippers (both with the hotel logo) when I departed…

I truly enjoy the little shampoos, conditioners,and lotions. They are so handy to pop into the bag for quick trips, and they are sweet in a small basket to put in my guest bath for overnight guests at home, along with a toothbrush, toothpaste and deodorant.

I also like the individual coffee packets, very convenient although my financial situation does not give me the privy of staying in hotels very often.

When my husband and I travel to Naples Fl. we take our time so we usually stay two nights at different hotels. Yes, I am guilty of taking the shampoo and conditioner from the bath. My husband wanted me to take the robes that they offer, I did not want to take those, shampoo and conditioner was enough, the reason I took those is they had the name and location of the hotel and I like to have some type of little reminder of where we stayed. We have robes in our luggage and the cost for the hotels supplying robes to customers I assume can be quite high, our economy struggles enough, why take something I do not need. I wanted to make a quick comment on the trio of sweet travel pouches, how creative, three are perfect, on our return home my two daughters always check our luggage for surprises for them. I will keep one and let my two daughters have the other two. My oldest daughter has a 3 yr. old and this will be perfect for carrying the neccesities for little Romek. Guilty on the shampoo and conditioner, winning this beautiful trio would be awesome, I love the style and colors, they take you into each season in New England, thank you for this great chance to win, Happy Holidays to all.

I do not steal anything. I do take home the shampoo, conditioner and lotion that I have already opened. These are included in the cost of the room. I don’t understand why people think this is stealing. What is the hotel going to do with opened bottles?

I have only ever taken the toiletries that they *expect* you to take. Those are already written into the price you pay. I wouldn’t dream of taking things like towels or robes that some people do because aside from being morally wrong, it will ultimately raise the room costs even further.

Matches for refreshing the powder room (especially if I am traveling with a handsome companion:). Shoe polish cloth (a shoeshiner once told me they are the best), newspapers left at the door (even if I don’t read the local language, I try to figure the stories and news out), magazines for learning, sharing and recycling. (P.S. I always personally thank, and tip the ‘maids.’ we’re all just people).

I always take every complimentary item they provide. I collect them, and then take them to the local Women’s Shelter several times a year. The Shelter’s can only distribute products ‘as is’, meaning that when they get big bottles of shampoo, etc, they have to give it to one person. Having lots of personal sized items allows them to help more women in need. Most of these women flee from abusive households with nothing but the clothes on their back. Every little bit helps! I am blessed to be able to have my own things with me when I travel.

When I go on trips which has not been often, I usually use the shampoos and soaps and bring what is left home. If there is any coffee left, bring that too. Most of my travels include to the beach, or to the mountains. Now that I am retired hope to do more travel. Now that I am 150 pounds thinner and health and energy and mobility has increased. I can enjoy the trips and the walking.

I collect and put them in goodie bags and donate to charity auctions fundraisers, church for homeless, disabled vets to help homeless vets and the elderly on fixed income, it’s very expensive for the elderly to afford luxury items as these. If I stay in a condo and detergents, softeners, dish soap and sponges are available I also put in cite Bags with a ribbon tie and give to elderly. The smile in thier face when I give it to them jyst lights up the room and they are so happy. I also give them to Alheimers patients in homes because the fact of them receiving something makes them so happy especially the women when they smell how great the soaps and shampoos smell. I spend alot if time at the VA center with my Dad and see how much our veterans need. I also spent 24/7 with my mom in a Nurseing/ rehab center and saw many Alheimers patients who were abandoned by family. Caring is sharing

When I was younger I would take soap, complimentary toiletries and perhaps towels and or a very comfortable pillow. Now that I have matured and realize that I really have no use for these things as I am quite capable of purchasing these things legitimately, I may be inclined to take written materials that I can use when I am at my destination to make my stay easier or the unused stationary as a momento.

Hmm… I take only the unfinished contents of the products I’ve used…ie. a half bpttle of lotion or mouth wash. If you take what you don’t use, it can impact price increases that hotels charge! That’s another reason I always turn off the lights! 🙂

These are gorgeous, my makeup bag needs to be replaced. When traveling I take all the soaps, shower caps,shampoo, conditioners, single coffee’s, creamers, etc. All the complitary things, and save them in a bag and my friends collect also for me. I then donate them to the local Womans Shelter.

i always take the pen and note pad…handy to have in my purse, especially on a trip…and then at home. at my age, writing myself notes is becoming a must do. starting to keep a pad at my bedside…for when i remember that thing that slipped my mind earlier in the day…or starting a list of things i need to get done the next day.

The real small ones aren’t worth it, but I remember some hotel some where had some Bath & Body Works aromatherapy bottles that were heavenly…and that got me hooked on them! Guess I am have a “Florida Moment”, but can’t remember which hotel that was!

I used to be a flight attendant. I hated to leave the bar soaps in the room. I took every bar home with me from every hotel on every trip. I still have some of the delicious smelling small bars of soap. They come in handy when I have company staying at my home. I put the wrapped small bars into the shower and in the sink area. This way the guest gets fresh new soap.

I have taken in the past the shampoos and soap but have learned throught the years that they do not compair to the products I normally use. I have stopped taking these items and always carry my own. We go on a lot of soccer trips and carry extra because of not having enough if someone forgets theirs.
