absolutley diamonds, bought by my prince charming on a warm, yet slightly breezy day. he would be spreading out the picinic blanket and i would start to unpack the picnic basket, but he would keep taking it out of my hands laughing. FINALLY, we would sit down and HE would open up the picnic basket and lo and behold, a wonderful blue velvet box would appear in his hand. i would squeal in delight. a kiss of appreciation before i even opened my treasure and then, my hands would lift the top open ever so slowly to find……………..

Yes,but to make it more personal I’d like the sparkle set in a vintage or antique setting.

I love jewerly. My most favorite stones are Diamonds, London Blue Topaz and Rubies. Since l am unable to wear most jewerly because of Osteo Arthritis and Carpal Tunnel, in my hands, I am down to mainly earrings and occassionally a necklace. The ears, so far, are one spot that hasn’t been affected my our generations superwoman status.

I’ve never met a gem that I didn’t like! I don’t knwo how anyone can sell their jewelry, unless they neeed the money. Mine is never unwanted. Give me the sparkling ones!

Marilyn said it best: Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, however, that’s not the case for me any more. My current husband has a lot more imagination when it comes to gifts and actually gives me cool things that I use–things that he puts thought into rather than stopping by the jewelery store on Christmas Eve and buying something the girl behind the counter tells him that I will love.
The other factor is that I’m a different person than I used to be. Running for Congress last year kept me from wearing most of my flashy shiny stuff and taught me a lot about people and myself, and it changed my life.

I agree absolutely – I have never received wonderful diamond jewelry for a gift, but have always had to gift it to myself. To me, the ultimate compliment a man can make to his love is to give her diamonds. I hope someday the men in my life will GET A F’N CLUE!!! LOL….

isn’t it more about from whom you’re getting the gift!
From the BF i love getting original-looking, or designy [not blign] jewelry [am not sure if that qualifies a dazzeling?] but from my daughter I olove the stuff she puts together or finds that related to my 3 grandboys. From girl firends, anything goes –definitely not jewelry!
