The beauty industry is attracting more scientists than ever, who are studying the extremely popular subject of aging. Every day, we hear about new lotions, creams and serums that reportedly stall, or even reverse, the aging process as much as possible, at least when it comes to our skin, one of the most visible signs of getting older.
Although I wasn’t a stellar science student in school, I still work hard to understand the science behind the new beauty products we’re invited to cover for our wonderful community of women, 45+ . Even if we’re compensated to write about these products, I don’t like parroting a manufacturer’s claims that its formula reduces wrinkles and under-eye circles, as well as increases skin elasticity, for instance, without explaining how the product works–in simple, clear terms that make sense to all of us. Then, it’s up to you whether you want to try it yourself.
Of course, I know that even if I love a product, after using it for weeks and months, and swear that it has dramatically improved my skin, that doesn’t mean your skin will react the same way.
