Meet Coach Amy Cohen

Amy Cohen

Age: 54

Are you married?

Yes, my parents rented the downstairs apartment to the man who is now my husband. Funny enough, after lots of breaking up and getting back together, I practically forced him to move out so he wouldn’t be privy to my dating life, lol. Well, we ended up together and have been married for 24 years!

What does your husband do?

He is an entrepreneur as well and we have recently joined forces.

Kids?

Our daughter is 22 and our son is 17.

Where did you grow up and what did your parents do?

I grew up in Brooklyn, NY. My mother worked in a bank, but really had an entrepreneurial spirit and helped my father, who created costume jewelry in his own business.

What did you do before becoming a Practitioner for Emotional Health, Naturally?

I call this my second half of life! My first half was in corporate America as an office manager for a law firm in NYC and in credit management.

What made you choose your current field?

A number of years ago, my life was in turmoil. I was making medical decisions for my sick father, my marriage was failing, I needed to move and get my kids out of the schools they were attending. Usually a strong woman, I was falling apart, mentally and physically!

One evening, on my way back from the hospital to my father’s apartment, I suddenly couldn’t think or concentrate. That night, I could barely function or sleep. When I asked my doctor to prescribe something to help me to get through this period, she suggested that I take a flower remedy blend she would custom create for me. I had never heard of this before and it sounded odd. I wasn’t interested, but the doctor assured me that it would help me move back into balance emotionally, so I could handle all I was going through, make decisions with clarity and get back control. The blend was natural, powerful and would work quickly, she said. Honestly, natural was the last thing on my mind, but I took her recommendation.

Believe it or not, I had come back to life within two days, and was able to take the ‘bull by the horns.’ Was it really the flower remedy blend the doctor gave me? I wanted to learn more! After doing a great deal of research and experimentation with remedies for family and friends, I became a believer.

My path is to let women know that they don’t have to live in anxiety, but can move forward in their lives.

There is nothing, except negative thinking, that can get in our way.

What makes flower remedies effective?

Flower essences are simply water-based solutions which contain the essential energies of flowers from all over the world. They are made by floating flowers in water and allowing the light of the sun (or in some cases the moon or stars) to help the water absorb the energy signature of the flowers. The structure of the water molecule allows it to store these energies. These essences can, indeed, help us emotionally when trauma moves us out of balance and we struggle with negative emotions, including anxiety, sadness, worry and stress.

When a few drops of a flower essence are placed under the tongue, the energy of the flower floods a person’s aura, vibrating at its own special frequency, and can nudge the vibrations in the aura towards their own frequency. This can create an immediate effect on the emotional and spiritual levels of the aura.

What kind of FabOverFifty woman can most benefit from a customized remedy blend?

Every woman can benefit. We are all moved out of emotional balance at different times in our life and we all react to it in different ways. Some may struggle with anxiety, others struggle with procrastination, sadness, intense fear or worry, or feeling stuck. Any negative thought or behavior is showing us we are out of balance. Are you a woman who doesn’t know your path at the moment? Do you feel overwhelmed by trying to make your business work?

If we don’t take care and bring back balance, quickly and easily, we begin to believe all the negative thoughts in our head and even become ‘comfortable’ living in the discomfort of anxiety or unhappiness. We’re not supposed to live this way. Each of us is meant to live life happy, and we can! Doesn’t it make sense that flowers would be given to us not only for their beauty, but for their power?!

What is your mission?

My passions are consulting, creating customized remedy blends and going on the journey with each client. My path is to let women know that they don’t have to live in anxiety, but can move forward in their lives. There is nothing, except negative thinking, that can get in our way.

Tell us about a typical client.

My clients are 25 years old and above. They are moms and business owners. I work with women who are being controlled by their anxiety, are unhappy in their life, feel stuck, want to be open to a relationship, attain goals (including weight loss), control their menopause symptoms, and move forward towards happiness for themselves and their families. I also work with moms whose children demonstrate symptoms of autism, wet the bed, stutter, have PTSD and more and with women who are tired of feeling that they aren’t achieving enough in their lives.

What’s the greatest piece of advice you can give FOF women?

I really believe women rule the world! But we cannot do it if we’re not feeling our best, don’t have our life in control and don’t feel joy, success and peace. Take control, bring your life to happy and make your place in our world.

How do women most sabotage themselves?

We usually put everyone ahead of ourselves. We have so much too do, we often run out of energy. Get yourself in emotional and physical health, then move on to your family. You’ll accomplish much more this way.

What famous women do you most admire?

I love Hillary Clinton. As First Lady, she was in the shadows, yet still worked to create a better world. Then, she braved the humiliation her husband inflicted. After that, she helped the world’s countries connect, with mayhem all around us!

Do you have a mentor?

Yes, my doctor/homeopath, now retired. She taught me that I’m in control of my health and my family’s health. And my dad taught me to persevere as an entrepreneur, to never abandon my dream.
