I work in a small office of a larger organization. All in my office are women 50+. I like my work, but am made to feel that I don’t deserve wages that I am offered in other areas….even though I feel the education I have makes me a more valuable employee….my supervisor doesn’t convey that my education is worth anymore in my job although I know differently. I like my job, but I also feel like I’m slighted by it.

I’m at a bit of a loss without fully understanding the issue, but it certainly sounds like you have some rightful concerns that are sapping enjoyment out of what could be a nice win-win situation for you and your employer. I wonder what a renewed sprucing up of self-respect and then a friendly but direct talk with your supervisor might do to improve things for everyone.
