I am excited to share the #BleachInYourBest promotion and giveaway with the FabOverFifty community! I am being compensated by The Clorox Company to participate in this challenge.
I try to play by the rules, at least when it comes to washing and drying my clothes, and I keep learning new rules all the time! I recently learned, for example, to remove the bed linens from the dryer when they’re slightly damp, which prevents unnecessary wrinkling.
One of the rule sets I’ve never mastered, however, is how to properly use bleach. I’ve always loved the fresh, clean smell of whites washed with Clorox (a laundry room staple since I was a kid, and started helping my mother on wash day), not to mention how wonderfully white they look. But I’m never quite sure whether all my whites can safely be bleached, how much bleach I should use, and precisely when should I add it? And, how do I avoid spilling bleach on 1.) Good clothes I’m wearing when I’m doing the wash, or cleaning the tub and toilet 2.) Dark clothes I’m washing, that shouldn’t go near bleach?
Of course, I know the best ways to avoid bleach spills on a special blouse are simply not to wear good clothes when I’m doing the laundry, or to cover myself with a giant drop cloth. That is, they WERE the best ways! Now that The Clorox Company has introduced ingenious Clorox Control Bleach Crystals and Packs, liquid no longer is the only form of Clorox bleach.
Just Add Water
The new pre-measured, single-use pouches require no measuring and pouring (so, no spilling), and are activated by water. I simply tossed a pouch into the machine, along with my whites, and it did its job, and dissolved, during the wash cycle. When I cleaned the bathroom, I just dropped the pouch into the bucket and added water.
The innovative crystals also are activated by water, so they only start working when you want them to. Like the pouches, the crystals work wonders, when mixed with water, on the tub, toilet and bathroom sink, and on kitchen counters and other hard surfaces. Both the packs and the crystals deliver the same whitening power as Clorox liquid bleach, but put you in control! I can conveniently throw a load of whites into the machine when I’m all dressed up and ready to go out, and I don’t have to worry what the bottle of liquid bleach might have in store for my outfit. Besides, dainty is definitely not my middle name!
Even if you’re not quite ready to buy a new bottle of bleach, you should seriously consider buying the Clorox Control Bleach Crystals or Packs in time for your next wash.

With the cold and flu season in full effect. I use a lot of Clorox to sanitize my entire house as well as washing clothes. The dripless type of Clorox is my favorite. It spares splashes on other items. We were raise on Clorox Bleach. And with the different types of Clorox in the stores, I have tried many. One of my favorites is the Clinging Bleach gel. It is thick coated formula that clings to the toilet bowl and you can see it working as it kills the germs. Wow, I sound like a Clorox commercial…lol

Ashley says:
Sounds like a great product would use it with my whites!
Patti Kollar says:
I would like to give this product a try because I am so hesitant about puring liquid bleach into the little container bin on my washing machine (a front loading), due to fear that there may be some residual that may indavertently empty out into my next load as well. Which if course may not be the load I want any bleach in.
I have visual issues, so hitting that tiny little bin for the bleach is a challenge, at best. I am sure many others can relate to this issue also. So the new packs or cystals seem like a very good solution for me.
rebeccabasset says:
Me too, I always run Water through it after I use it, a waste of Water, and an extra load of Laundry for no Clothes.
Darnell Davis says:
Oh my, about time. I don’t know how many clothes that have been destroyed because of splashing bleach. This would help tremously.

I have a limited amount of room in my utility room. Pouring bleach is a “sight to behold!” Everything is in the corner…clothing, myself, laundry detergent, fabric softener and the liquid BLEACH. This is as good as sliced bread!
