5. HORMONAL BLOOD TESTS
“Some doctors rely heavily on hormonal blood tests to make treatment recommendations for their menopausal patients, while others think these tests are unnecessary, and instead rely on a woman’s symptoms (i.e. hot flashes, night sweats). I typically treat based on clinical symptoms, quality-of-life complaints, and individual and family medical history, particularly when prescribing hormone replacement therapy.
