It’s getting hot, hot, hot.
We’re not talking about the weather! EstroAide Naturel Unique Menopausal Symptom Relief & Bone Health Support (retail value: $39.95 for 30 tablets) is a supplement new to the U.S. that targets menopause symptoms and supports long-term bone and breast health, according to the manufacturer. It contains Genistein, a phytohormone that “helps bone health and reduces hot flashes,” and lycopene, a phytochemical derived from tomatoes that relieves “episodes of profuse heat accompanied by sweating and flushing.” The supplement also includes Vitamin D, “which is essential for calcium absorption” and “important for bone health.” “EstroAide Naturel can start showing efficacy and improvement in symptoms within 14 days of daily use. Its effect on the bones is a longer-term process,” says a company spokesperson.
Can a capsule a day keep the hot flashes away? 50 FOFs will test this.
To enter, answer the question: On a scale of 1-10 (10 being most), how much are you bothered by hot flashes?
50 FOFs will win. (See official rules, here.) Contest closes July 31, 2013 at midnight E.S.T. Contest limited to residents of the continental U.S.

K A Goodwin says:
I tried rx medicines my OB/Gyn prescribed and had awful side effects so gave up. Really wasn’t expecting much from this product but was pleasantly surprised! It really DOES help! Not only with the severity of the flashes, but the frequency. Great product. 🙂
Karen Goodiwn says:
I must say, I was very skeptical. My OB/GYN had prescribed a couple of strong medications to help, but those gave me BAD side effects (passing out!) and had to stop taking them. But I won your contest, so wanted to give it an honest try, not really expecting much. And I’ll be darned…. this stuff works!! WAY less severe flashes as well as less frequent! Great product! Gotta give it a 10! Thanks!!

I am definitely a 10. Hot flashes have changed my life. I am almost constant a sweaty mess. My hair (which is very straight and fine) is always plastered to my head no matter how much product I use. I literally drip. My grandmother had breast cancer; my mother died of it. I have no sisters. I have, and will continue to, refused HRT because of my family history. I don’t sleep much because of the hot/not hot cycle. I’m never actually cold. I sweat through make-up so between that and my flat hair I always look awful. Any help would be so appreciated.

pmbrady says:
I would say my number is an 8. I am both comforted and distressed at reading some of the comments by other women. I have been in menopause for about 5 years now and I had hoped that it would be coming to an end soon. I am somewhat comforted in the fact that my situation seems to be shared by so many others and distressed that I could still be dealing with years and years of menopause symptoms. Good Lord, once it starts, does it never end? I would love to try this. Other supplements I have tried have not made any difference at all, so something finally that works would really be appreciated!

Linda Boone says:
8 at night – ruining my sleep – fortunately only about a 2 during the day. Not on anything else that might interfere with an objective test 🙂
Suzanne Carter says:
I would say my hot flashes range from 7-8 on the scale of 1 to 10. I experienced one today while grocery shopping and was wringing wet with sweat by the time I got to the checkout. I actually asked for a paper towel from the clerk to mop up the perspiration before heading out of the store.
Linda Bailey says:
I’m at a 6. I am sooo tire of waking up soaking wet.
Linda Lockhart says:
I read the comments before posting because I was afraid of sounding like a lunatic. Unfortunately, it appears I’m in like company. My number is 10, but numbers don’t adequately describe what misery hot flashes and night sweats encompass. I’m 60 and this has been going on for over a decade, with no relief in sight. I relate to all my sisters who speak of covers on, covers off, thermostat flipping, and skimpy clothing. A fan in my bedroom is a must to evaporate the sweating. I have clothes I’ve thrown away because they’ve been worn during sweats and nothing will remove the unpleasant aroma. Progesterone cream gives moderate relief. I don’t want to use drugs, but I would welcome the opportunity to try a natural supplement.
Karen Fernow says:
I would love to test this product…while I refer to them as “Power Surges” I would still like to tone them down!

I am currently using an herbal hot flash treatment and STILL put my level at a 5. I am especially bothered by hot flashes at night. They come and go fairly quickly but are still noticeable.
Linda says:
I suffered from severe hot flashes and night sweats for 6 years and finally went on HRT when my husband said “enough is enough” and none of the OTC creams and supplements helped. I’ve been on HRT now for about 3 years with great success but my GYN would like me to stop, if possible. I’m 62 and began menopause at 48. I began to wean myself off this week by cutting down the number of days I take my hormones. Immediately began getting hot flashes again – mostly at night. Dang! Would love to try these to see if there is a more natural way to help that would actually work. Thanks!

Jocelyn says:
I forgot my number – I’ll give it an 8.
Jocelyn says:
Yes, yes – I want to try it. I am so tired of these hot flashes. Getting dressed in the morning, I have to wait to cool off so I can put on my make up only to get another hot flash when I finish and I have to touch it up before I leave. They pop up in the middle of the day at night – just whenever – just to annoy the crap out of me and it works?
Roxanne Sweney says:
Varies greatly. Flashes, flushes, night sweats. I would say from a 4-8.

Rosanne says:
**10** I am VERY bothered by hot flashes!! And then to add the heat of the summer is making me a very uncomfortable person to say the least! I try not to let myself go to the dark side of my feelings or taking it out on my loved ones, but I do get sad about these issues!
Its different for everyone I talk to about this, but the worst part is hearing some have it last for years and years!! Its already been bothering me for over a year. I had the hot flashes then they went away, so I thought, wow I was one of the lucky ones to have a short bout with them, but I shouldn’t have said or thought that as they came back worse then before!! Yuck!
