Pgeepers55 SAID:

I am a 56 year old woman of German descent. Although I’m aging pretty much as I expected, I have serious issues with my double chin and jowl area. Although I have are several procedures I’d like to do, this area bothers me the most. Even when I was thin, this part of my face bothered me. What is the best procedure and ballpark cost of the procedure?

Often liposuction helps this area for fat deposits under chin and on the neck. It will not eliminate excess loose skin, however. Jowls are best helped by a SMAS facelift (procedure on the muscular system of the face). The best option(s) depend on how loose your tissues are. You may be a candidate for neck suspension with liposuction, if you only have a little loose skin, or you may need a full necklift. The best procedure for YOU is best determined by consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. The double chin and jowl are part of the same problem. Both are treated with a facelift. In spite of its name, a facelift corrects the lower face including the jowl area and the neck. The best method presently is a modification of the MACS method of Facelifting. It provides excellent correction of the neck and a more natural correction of the cheeks and jowl. It also requires less surgery and tends to last longer than the traditional SMAS facelift. See a board certified plastic surgeon for an evaluation. Visit TodaysFacelift.com for more information.

A Facelift with some Liposuction of the neck would be the appropriate procedure to tighten and elevate both the neck and lower face. This cost of this procedure varies depending upon where you live. The total cost (including the surgeons fee, anesthesia and the surgery center) would likely be $7500 to $10,000.
