I love vintage geisdn and always enjoy looking through retro coupons like these. One thing I would say though is the title of this article I wouldn’t call these coupons classy’, just simply vintage, and there’s nothing wrong with that! Happy Tuesday ZBD

Christy LaTrasse says:
Hi There!
I had a love affair with bows when I was little. I remember my mom buying me a package of those plastic bow barretts in different colors – six colors! Thought I was big stuff. Iv’e had patent leather shoes with bows, headbands and a favorite pair of earrings in a flurry of rhinestones. There is something sweet and girlie about bows and we can wear them at any age. Viva la bow!
dmnyes says:
I am all about purses! The flashier the better.
rawraimey says:
Bows are definitely okay as long as you don’t wear them childishly. I think the fabric of the bow and the color are definitely important when picking the right one!

Definetly a bow gal. Love these.
orchidlady01 says:
I have occasionally worn a hair bow if I pull my hair back and want to cover the elastic but wouldn’t wear one on my clothing. The gold handbag bow is not bad though.

It depends. Bows can be a go if they are small and subtle and don’t overwhelm the outfit or make you look like a little girl.

Love both of the handbags. I do not own a clutch or bag for evening, so would be lovely to win. I think both bags are gorgeous, but the bronze probably would go with more things. I was in the Pearland area early December. Would have fun to stop for a visit and see the whole line.

Why say No to the Bow?? I remember when I was little and my Mom dressed me up to go somewhere special, as she would say, she had an assortment of bow’s, little ones for my hair, and bows for my coats or an added touch for the dresses she made for me, so for the Bow’s for me they are memories of special places and times with my Mom, I miss her alot and what better way to remember her than to have a bow and feel like she dressed me up all over again.
KAREN COGBURN says:
Bows have been part of my life since I was a little girl. Still love them!!

Love both purses, but my choice would be the silver with bow, more stylish, and still love bows, in my hair, on stick pins (wearing some with jingle bells on them pinned to my holiday socks), on shirts, etc.
mmimilinda says:
I love the bow on this bag, but I am not categorically a “bow girl.” A few, discreetly placed, can be perfect, and very feminine.

While both handbags are lovely, I find the one without the bow most appealing. It is an original shape for a clutch, very versatile color (Bronzey-Copper) and most sophisticated. That’s the one I would pick for myself !
memaw911 says:
I am not a “bow” person so definitely no bows.
Connie Smallwood says:
Bows worn anywhere and everywhere, make me say, YEAH, wear them this time of year, and let your significant other, unwrap you, for a special holiday treat.

My love for bows began as a little girl & still love them today.
Terri Sinclair says:
Admittedly I’m a little of both – sometimes I feel like a bow, sometimes I don’t!
But it definitely depends on where the bows are! I think at a certain age there can be no big bows at the waist (especially if you no longer have much of a waist!)
But, the bow bag for instance would work for anyone, at any age!
So, it really depends!

kgritts says:
I love bows – if used in the proper context, of course! Not in the hair, not a big 80s style bow on the waist. But a sedate bow on shoes, bags, strategically placed on party blouses can be feminine and classy.
Sheila A Caruso says:
WEARING BOW ON MY GOLD EVENING BAG IS STUNNING. I KNOW THAT BOWS ARE A YES.,YES AND NOT A NO NO.. VERY BEAUTIFUL CLUTCH AND EVENING BAG.
Trisha says:
I’m OK with a bow (one bow) on an evening bag, but don’t like the look- except for small children- during the day. Also, there are so many ways to tie a scarf, without a bow, so I would again “Say no to the Bow”.
Margarida says:
Bows add a touch of whimsiness, fun, style and sometimes childlike innocence.

A soft bow at the neck done with a beautiful scarf-always appropriate. Adore the clutches!
Jan says:
Love the extra add touch…make me feel feminine.
DLori27 says:
It’s very difficult for me to answer this question because I view each bag individually. The bag has to have something special about it, something that calls to me that says I can’t live without it before I purchase it. Generally, I attribute bows for the holiday season but bows on handbags simply give women more choices in choosing a pocketbook. Bows on handbags are simply an accessory just as a gorgeous silk scarf tied in a bow on the leather strap of a beautiful handbag has become a very coveted, gorgeous look. Who would have thought that this combination would be as beautiful and popular as it has? Looking at both bags, one with a bow and the other without, they are both equally gorgeous and because of their overall look, both bags can be worn all year round with any outfit. Here, I love the bag with the bow because it doesn’t overpower the bag, making it look gaudy, the size of the bow is perfect for the size of the bag and the color of the bag is simple yet versatile so the bow can be appreciated for it’s beauty without any distractions from other accessories or colors on the bag.
Happy Holidays To All

A bow is a “go” for me on a handbag as long as it is not too large. They look more fabulous on leather handbags or clutches, so soft. I own a sweater with a bow on the side of the neckline, and when I wear it I get compliments.

If it is the “right” size & in the “right” place… I too agree,

I think bows are a go in the right place. Not as in hair decor ala Rosemarie for FOFs, but as a large one on a pulled back do. Or as a neat little one on my brown leather gloves, or a belt on a classic simple dress. On leather handbags I have seen them look quite chic.

wlfrank says:
Depends on the woman–her hair and whether she will be a “little out there” kinda of girl. For me its a GO.

I prefer the simpler more classic lines without the bows. Quality handbags last many years and as styles change and bows on bags come and go, I know that the classics I own will always be appropriate. Frankly, I think I am too old at 61 to follow most of the trends. People at our age should have figured out their style years ago and now can stick with it. That is one less things to worry about!
emom says:
Oh, honeys, bows can be a go! Just think about the flirt, the prim, the proper, and the untying . . .

Wearing bows is a go – I think some of the current boot styles sporting bows are classy looking – note I said SOME – others that overdo it with very large prominent bows lean more toward the comical. The gold metallic bag with a bow definitely fits the definition of classy in my book – as does the shiny coppery clutch number! Love them!

Bows are very flirty, feminine. The size of bows looking good is different at different ages. As a young girl, big bow in hair looked pretty. As a sophisticated professional, bows on shoes & purses look good(Not very big though).

I’m not much of a bow girl for everyday, but for festive occasions bows really add a femine touch.

bows are a yes!

As a young girl, I wore bows all the time – with a side part, a little velveteen one attached to a bobby pin (that my mother made for me) to hold my hair out of my face, or those synthetic yarn ties, around each of my pigtails! In high school, it was jeans and t-shirts….so it was a “no-bow” period. At my wedding, in my late 20s, I had bows on my puffed sleeves, made of ivory silk ribbons, and my bridesmaids had small bows on the back of their iridescent emerald green dresses…not the tacky large ones….my youngest sister actually shortened her dress and wore it for New Year’s Eve the following year…then I had two daughters…they were bald at birth…and no, I did NOT scotch tape bows to their heads….instead I used those little baby headbands that look like an old bridal garter! On a big job interview, I wore a navy blue suit, with a white blouse, with an attached scarf bow in the front, and when my best friend got married at “Tavern on the Green” I wore a “tuxedo dress” with a black bow tie! After seeing a cunning diamond bow-tie necklace on Charlotte, a character on “Sex and the City” I found a knock-off CZ version…and thought I was a really trendy divorcee! Nowadays, I tie a bow on my espadrilles in the summer, and have some clip-on rhinestone bows to jazz up my plain pumps….so, as for the question: “Bows – a Go or No?” I would say that bows GO on forever in a woman’s life!

love the colors I would give the one with the bow to my daughter age 40 . Would keep the other for myself I am almost 70.

It is a resounding NO for me to wear bows.
1wicket46 says:
Wearing bows in the right setting and on the right accessories is a dramatic GO! I love them on bags, ankle boots and belts but if you want to wear them in your hair and be like “Sally” in Dick Van Dykes’ sitcom, then the answer is NO! Bows should bring about class and elegance! The curves and grace of bowship is a GO!

I am not a bow kind of lady, but that copper bag is stunning! It just screams sexy!! And copper is one of my favorite colrs. I love bold jewel tones, reds, teals. Love that bag. Betty so happy you have followed your dreams. Mine is to finish college for my BSN at 61!
Thanks Robin

bows?……it all depends on how and where one wears them! I think they’re just fine……and the bags are gorgeous too!
beachwoman says:
Bows are a definite GO for any age, very feminine and fun.

I am not a fan of the bow. I think it’s an age thing.

My grandaughter and I think bows are a go. She listened carefully to me when I said the doctor had delivered her. Her next question was what did the box look like and did it have a pretty bow? At her tender age, she assumed the doctor delivered her to us in a box!
Yes, Cora the box was a beautiful pink that had a snazzy purple and pink box with lots of personality. The box was such a beautiful gift it took our breath away. When we removed the bow and we lifed the lid, a little blue eyed girl with red hair smiled at us.
This is a true story and Cora never gets tired of hearing it.

I loved the metallic look. So like me!!! Would love to have at least one of these wonderful purses.

If you are not sure about bows, just look to Valentino – one of the most talented designers in the last 100 years. He is famous for his signature bows. Like most things though, it all comes down to moderation. The size, color and placement all depend upon the garment and the person wearing it – including accessories. Properly chosen they can make an unforgettable statement.

How sweet, love the bag with the bow, just too darling and girlie. Thank you for your talent.

Bows are aways beautiful if they are worn right & I think that Bettys bags are beautiful & would love to win either of them
Headinclouds says:
Of course bows are a go! As long as you keep in mind size & placement. Beautiful purse with a bow, on the toe of a great pair of shoes, etc. Betty’s purses are stunning and I love that she went after her dream!
crowefeather says:
A total go! The girlier the better!

Wearing bows depends on what I am wearing and where I am going, but yes I love bows of all sizes and colors, on shoes, hair, bags, tote whatever, whenever!!! Love the purses.

i am a handbag-aholic and these would be wonderful additions

I’m a pretty simple, classic girl, so I’m not into big embellishment. I would have done well with Zoran or, more my budget, Eileen Fisher. I’d go for the simple clutch and let the sparkles do the talking!
1955nurse says:
I’m an “It depends…” kinda girl! Depends on the occasion, the outfit AND the bow itself! I sure wouldn’t mind rocking the bow on one of these beautiful bags, tho…. Thanks for the chance!

I love bows! I saw a little black leather purse with a beautiful bow on Rodeo Drive a few years ago. Would have loved to have had it… but the $1500 price tag meant it would never be mine!
janetatchley says:
I love bows and I think it’s a way to stay in touch with our feminine side when done in moderation. At 56 I wouldn’t want a big hair bow. But a bow on a purse, shoes or a pin is very ageless.
mprimo1 says:
Bows are feminine. One of my grandaughters loves bows. Never too young or old for bows.
Lisa says:
I think bows are a go. Hope to win this one1

I’ll wear whatever I’m in the mood for. Plenty of times I’ve heard the kids say”Mother you will not go out wearing that” take it off . Fine if you want to look like a firetruck. I do love my girls most of the time.
As for the purses they are beautiful. I need or could use a new fancy colorful purse. I have a brown leather bag. I so wanted a purple purse this season . I never found one I liked. These bags would shine like the Chrystler building. Happy Holiday to all.
sgoulet660 says:
I don’t think at 50 I’m to old for bows I love them, as long as the bow isn’t huge.
Anna Wisnoski says:
Bows add a feminine touch. I enjoy adding that little touch to an outfit depending on the occasion. But hair bows are a definite no for me.
drsusan32 says:
Wearing bows is great! Bows are pretty on bags, shoes, and clothing. I have loved wearing bows my entire life, starting as a child wearing them in my hair.
Toby Wollin says:
Bows? I think everyone can wear bows – it’s all a question of how big and where. I do draw the line at the big ‘butt bows’ from those way over the top dresses form the 80s, but a clever little bow or even a bow-shaped piece of jewelry attached to a headband is great. And an obi belt with the bow in the front is great too. But I also think you have to match the bow size to your height so that the bow is a fillip.
