{Giveaway} Doodle By Stitch

—————————————————————————————————

FOF Chrissie Probert Jones is giving away a medium sized tablecloth or set of placemats (you choose!) to 5 lucky FOFs. Her company, Doodle by Stitch, features a line of products that you can draw on, wash and redesign all over again! Enter to win by answering this question in the comments below: Which would you most like to win?

Chrissie Probert Jones has held many job titles, including editorial positions at the prestigious Vogue and Marie Claire magazines. A graduate of the Courtauld Institute of Art in London, where she studied costume history, Chrissie started a textile company of her own in 2006. “My whole life, I wanted to design,” says Chrissie. “One night I was sitting up in bed writing a list, and I thought it would be so cool if you could just use your bed like a gigantic notepad.” In 2008, Chrissie but her idea into motion.  “I bought a single white duvet cover and marked it up like graph paper,” says Chrissie. “I drew it all by hand, then did it digitally on the computer.” Chrissie started interviewing manufacturers at trade fairs, as well as online manufacturers and manufacturers in China to find someone to create her product. She began researching the best materials to use. “We spent a long time finding the right pens that would wash out completely,” says Chrissie, “and we had to get the safety testing done. I was very aware of safety regulations. And as a mother you want everything to be safe.”

Chrissie’s line, Doodle by Stitch, officially launched in October of 2010 with her first product, the Doodle Duvet.  It won the best new gift award at the Top Drawer trade fair in London that same year. From there, Chrissie began expanding the line to include tablecloths, placemats, pillow covers, wall stickers, and aprons. The Doodle by Stitch tablecloths have become a popular item for business meetings, too. “We just had an order from the Scottish government for some tablecloths,” says Chrissie, “As well as the Google [offices] in Dublin who are using them for brainstorming sessions.” Doodle by Stitch is sold online, as well as in retail stores throughout the UK and US, including Francesca’s and Paper Chase, and has been featured in major magazines such as Good Housekeeping.

“The whole concept is about being different and individual,” says Chrissie. “I hate to have the same old stuff. I always want my home to look different. You can also personalize your life. You can write your friends a nice note on their placemat, its really quite nice.”

Enter to win a medium sized tablecloth, or set of placemats from Doodle by Stitch by answering this question in the comments below: Which one would you most like to win?

I’d LOVE to have a table cloth that I could write, draw, and doodle on! What a fantastic idea for you to put out! I too write lists in bed or at our table and always find I want to leave notes as I walk out the door in the morning and never have a notepad and pen handy. I could keep the pens by the table which is right by the door and write away! thanks for the chance to win! Ruthie

Although perhaps the placemats could be used at other places, rather than just at my table. I could see using one in my office at my desk for sure! I love to doodle while on the phone – or even just for making daily notes on it!

I love ur ideas and the doodle pad!!! I love fashion and style, beauty products that make me look better, i am gluen free and have to be very careful what I eat!! But I am finding it very difficult to make dinners for my husband and myself!! I need help!! I also weigh about 127 lbs. and want to stay that way!! so its hard when he comes home from work… i feel stuck!!! Oh, I am 5’8 and have always weighed this much even after having 3 kids MANY years ago.. my oldest will be 44 this month…. OMG! Where has the time gone!!!I am so tired after having to move over 10 days, sick all summer with kidney stones, then had altitude sickness, then coming home to find dog pee and an d poop , our sitters didn’t do very well, and we paid them upfront…then a week later we get an eviction notice!!! We own a home in Washing state, but our daughter and her family r living their and want to buy the house… “sometime” when their credit is good???? So we can’t buy and we really want to get the heck out of Las Vegas!! Well, after coming home to that mess, we had two days to clean and repack to go and visit two friends in New Mexico…. I got altitude sickness, almost died!! it took us 3 weeks to get home!! We spent so money on hospital bills, and hotel rooms that we hadn’t planned on so now, we have found another rental, thank the LORD for good friends to help us move!! We got The key to move in on Sat. nite at 6pm. We moved all night and all Sunday, we r in , but what an mess!! Another thing is that we drove from Seattle in 2 days, my left flank was hurting so bad… then we had some good days with the 5 kids and 16 grandchildren. WE left and drove the whole way to Las Vegas in 2 days… I was miserable!!! Had to call my doc, gave me some pain meds, muscle relaxers, but then to turn around in two days to go to New Mexico was just way tooooo much for me!!! Then when we get their I was agitated, confused, disoriented, went to a clinic, they called the paramedics, I end up in a hospital, then they had to transfer me to another hospital.. my O2 saturation was about 82 percent… so then we learned that for every 1500 feet we had to stay in a hotel for 2 days!!! It costs us a fortune just to get home…and then after 2 weeks, we had to move!!! I am a RN and have seen a lot , but when ur the pt… it’s terrible !!! Then yesterday afternoon, getting out of my car, we haven’t done any landscaping yet.. and there are rocks everywhere!! I got out on the passenger side and I was really trying to be care when, my foot rolled on a rock! I fell right on my tailbone, just missed a huge cactus thank the Lord he was there to help me up!! Talk about a very hard few months, my husband is stressed , worried about me, I’m worried about him!! WE really need a vacation!!!!! Thank you for all of your’e listening and caring and for this wonderful web site! God Bless you in all u do, with much thank fullness and humbleness Barbara Folkman

For the baby, a couple pairs of Quick-change trousers from Anna Maria-Horner’s book, and for the almost-4-year-old, a pair of pants from a Japanese pattern book with Kokka helicoptor fabric, and a pair of long pants adapted from the Oliver & S Sketchbook Shorts pattern. Nothing for myself right now maybe next season! 🙂
