{Giveaway} Victoria McGill Eye Defining Contour Strips

20 FOFs will get to test Eye Defining Contour Strips by Victoria McGill. To enter, answer in the comments below: What would you most want to change about your eyes?

Thank you for entering. This contest is now closed.

About fifteen years ago, FOF Judy McGill had a bug bite that turned into a scab above her eye. The scab had a lifting effect, pulling taut the loose skin on her eyelids. She wondered if there was a way she could recreate the look, this time on both of her eyes, after her scab healed. Judy, who worked at a grocery store at the time, perused the aisles and experimented with different materials until she found what she was looking for — surgical grade medical adhesive. She cut it to size and began wearing it in the contour of her eye lid.

“The effect was instant,” says her daughter, Victoria. “It tucked the loose skin into its natural crease and gave her such a youthful look.”

Judy spent the next few years making modifications to the strips such as adding “makeup-gripping” material to the top to hold liner and eyeshadow. She finally patented the product in 2001. Victoria began marketing and selling it when her mother fell ill with leukemia. “I knew how happy my mother had been when she wore the strips,” says Victoria. “I said to her, ‘what if we bring this to everyone?’ And we did.”

Today, celeb makeup artists including Patrick Eichler and Jennifer Snowdon swear by the crescent-shaped adhesive when they want to create a lifted, more defined eyelid–instantly.  Be one of 20 FOFs who put them to the test…

Enter to test eye contour strips by Victoria McGill. 20 FOFs will win. To enter, answer in the comments below: What would you most want to change about your eyes?

(See all our past winners. See official rules. One winner is chosen at random from all those commenters who answer the question. Contest closes August 11, 2011.)

If I had control of the universe, the thing I would most want to change about my eyes is the sagging top part of my lid. I never realized what a drastice change took place in one year. I don’t remember my eyelids sagging like this last year, so it had to be turning 57 and all the stressful events of the past years that did this to my otherwise “okay” eyes. I would like an eye lift, but simply can’t afford one. These strips sound like just the right trick.

no doubt the sagging from my top eyelid, my mom had this also, i suppose to have it taken care of it would require surgery, at this point i cannot afford surgery, we are putting our youngest daughter thru school and her education comes above everything else, without question! she told me, “Mom, if you really want this done, i will work extra hours and help you” well besides the sagging lids, i also had tears in my eyes. i explained that her education comes first and i love her very much for wanting to help her Mom. of course this would be great to win and my daughter and i would have fun, “as she puts it” applying the strips. thank you for tis chance to uplift my upper lids, good luck to all, and to my daughter, I love you sweetheart, stay in school and reach for your goals, all my love, Mom.

  19. DLori27 says:

I have pretty green eyes but my eyes seem to be getting smaller. The reality is the skin on my eyelids is not as firm as it used to be and as such, the upper lid is falling, giving the appearance that my eyes are smaller. I think these strips would be perfect to raise that upper eyelid skin , take years off my face, allow me to see better because the excess skin is having an impact on blocking my full vision and the strips would open up my eyes giving me a brighter, more radiant, and less tired appearance. I’ve been considering cosmetic surgery but why bother when you can use products that produce the same effects without any risks of infection or other things people sometimes suffer after surgery. I also would love to have the fine lines on the sides of my eyes diminished which I think could be accomplished by pulling the skin gently to the scalp area which would reduce or remove the lines around the sides of the eyes. Any puffiness under the eye could probably be rectified by gently pulling the under eye skin up toward the lower lid. I’ve heard of this product and have been wanting to try it because I am so unhappy with the way my eyes look. Surgery is a last resort but it’s becoming a stronger option for me because I just don’t see how a product such as these strips could really do as they promise. That’s why I’d like to try them before setting up a surgery date because if in fact they really do work, surgery is definitely off my calendar.

Thank you for the possibility of being chosen to try this wonderful, highly coveted product.

It’s a toss up between droopy, crepey eyelids themselves and fatty upper eyelids (beneath the brow bone). The fatty part, like my ‘chipmunk cheeks’, is genetic. While I’ve come to terms with my full face, I hate having no definition to my eyes/lids. I feel that it makes me look like a bassett hound: sad and sleepy-eyed, no matter how much rest I get. (Heaven forbid me to lose sleep, or I look truly woeful!)

Somewhere on my face are lovely brown eyes that my favorite person in the world – my dearly departed Dad – used to call “doe eyes”. His formerly doe-eyed daughter now requires a small forklift to lift the droopy eyelids to see aforementioned brown eyes. What I’d like to change about my eyes is simple: lift the droopy lids and shrink the lack-of-sleep bags so that I maybe can apply a basic amount of makeup. Then, maybe they’ll show up with the rest of my face! And smile and smile.
    Thanks.

OMG! I can’t tell you how badly I would LOVE to win this! Fatty, droopy eyelids run in our family (on my dad’s side). I don’t even wear eyeshadow anymore because it doesn’t do any good….once I apply the eyeshadow and then relax my eyes, the eyeshadow disappears. I want surgery, but insurance will only cover the surgery if it is affecting your eyesight. I’m sure it will at some point, but by then I will be too old to care, I guess.

I am allergic to antibiotics and therefore cannot have the eye surgery to remove the “pockets” that are above my eyelid. From reading the description of the product, this would seem to be the perfect solution to get the area above my eye, right below the brow, back to what they were when I was younger. My eyes have always been one of my best features, and I sure would love to get that feature back. I hope I am one of the lucky 20 ladies that get to try this product.

I have huge, beautiful, very dark brown eyes. They’re my very best feature. I sing with a Big Band Jazz orchestra so am under the bright lights of the stage often. Those bright lights can be unkind after you reach “as certain age”. At 61 I’m watching my eyelids beginning to sag and age my face which otherwise looks pretty good compared to a lot of other folks I see my same age or even younger. An eyelift is out of the question. I’d love to find another answer or way to minimize the effect.

My eyes are puffy, not just a little puffy, but the kind of puffiness that makes it hard to open them in the morning. I often wonder if it’s even worthwhile to use eye makeup since nothing can conceal those bulges in the corner of each eye near my nose. Of course I have bags underneath my eyes, which I would also love to be rid of, but the puffiness above is not only an aesthetic problem but occasionally even impinges on my vision. Sometimes I can even see a shadow from the puffiness. I have no money for surgery so any help would be welcomed and I would be so grateful.

I’d like it if my eyes were less sensitive. As I grow older, they redden and tear up at the slightest thing, and I have to be vigilant about removing eye makeup at night or they puff up beyond recognition.

Like so many, I try to defy (the effects of) aging. When asked my age, my reply is always, “Age is just a number, and my is UNLISTED.” I feel young and vibant inside, but my eyelids are drooping and it makes me appear older than I feel. I’m not trying to look 20 again, I actually enjoy being a mature woman… BUT I do want to appear awake, alive, alert and excited about life. Please help me by allowing me to try this exciting product and THANK YOU for developing something that can give us that glow back!!

Sounds exciting! For me it’s the hood effect, there’s no crease left and a lot of puffy / extra skin so I look tired at best, sad or angry when I’m not. I’ve stopped wearing eye makeup because of it, and I’d love the chance to use a little color again. I have hazel – green eyes, but you don’t notice them anymore.

I believe that using a product like this would advance the problem you have to begin with. The skin around the eye is very delicate and any lifting or stretching and taping of this skin will make the problem worse. I personally would never use this type of product ever!

What I would LOVE to change is the upper eye lid, my Mom had the same problem, as I get older the top lid sags towards my eyes and makes me look alot older, it really bothers me alot, sometimes I actually catch myself raising my brows when I talk to someone thinking it will lift my eye lids up, I tryed it in the mirror and it did lift up my lid somewhat, although I looked silly. I would love to try this product and leave my brows where they belong. Thank you.
