{Poll} Which FOF celeb had the best career comeback?

FOF Betty White
is best known as Rose from the Golden Girls, an 80s sitcom. She soared to fame again this past March, when 500,000 die-hard fans on Facebook nominated her to host Saturday Night Live. At age 88, she became the oldest host to appear on the show. “I’m having the time of my life. I’ve never been this busy… At 88 years old you don’t expect that to happen!” she said in an interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer.

We thought 52-year-old FOF Ellen DeGeneres was down for the count when her prime-time sitcom “Ellen” was unceremoniously canceled in 1998 after she came out as a lesbian and show ratings tanked.  Yet, in 2003 she made a career comeback with her daytime talk show “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” that featured its 1000th episode in 2009 and has made “Ellen” a household name.

FOF Jennifer Grey
is best known as Frances “Baby” Houseman from the 1987 movie Dirty Dancing. Health complications due to a 1987 car accident and thyroid cancer sidelined her for nearly two decades. Now she’s back, as a contestant on this season of Dancing With the Stars and will guest-star on an Oct. 18th episode of the Fox drama House. “This is like eating a delicious steak after 23 years of fasting,” she recently said in a People magazine interview.

Which FOF celeb do you think had the best career comeback? Answer our poll then comment below.

Its such as you read my mind! You appear to understand so much about this, such as you wrote the e book in it or something. I feel that you could do with some percent to drive the message home a bit, but other than that, that is excellent blog. An excellent read. I’ll definitely be back.

Although I adore Betty White, I was a huge fan of Helen’s original TV show, where she had a book store , I think it was……I watched her struggle with the gossip and the pressure to come out of the closet. I do not understand this movement, a person’s preference is their own business affair.
When she succumbed to the pressure of the movement, I do understand it appears to have freed her soul.
This that terrible public break up with a woman who went back to a man, wow, that had to hurt someone of that lifestyle and to have it public had to be a huge impact on her heart and ego….yet, she survived it.
I admire surivors. Betty White, is adorable, and has come such a long ways, but Helen survived a public battle, and now, has a wonderful career and family…a huge public comeback in all aspects, her career and personal but public life.
I am a regular happily married conservative lady, not into politicas at all…but to survive all of the public drama Helen has and win, she gets a solid 10 from me

Betty White is incredible! At her age most people are sitting in a nursing home just waiting to die if they’ve even lived that long. This FOF has gotten a second wind and man is she going for it. Good for her.

I admire all of these stars for the comebacks they have made. Ellen could have “skittered off-stage” and stayed there, but she didn’t–she came back strong. Jennifer overcame personal problems and, even though she had to fight through pain and fatigue, she came back so strong on DWTS (she won, in case you didn’t know, over much younger contestants) and showed us that glamor, humor and atheleticism are not limited to the young–I wish her the very best of luck in getting as many roles as she wants now. But, Betty White is so unique–a great lady, but always a comedienne. I remember her from “Password” (I think) with her husband Alan Lund (or Lunt?). She was quite funny then–which was kind of rare for females on TV and outspoken at that time. But she hasn’t changed much since then–still the same adorable commedienne she was then. And, of course there have been all the TV shows, including Saturday Nite Live, since then. And just look at the movies and commercials she is doing now. She does appear to be busier than ever!

Wow tough 1! My 1st instinct was to vote for Betty White, I mean let’s face it “Where isn’t she”?! I think she was cast as a”Golden Girl” when she was so young!
Ellen in my mind has never been gone! I always believed in her and up until reading your article I didn’t even realize it had been that long in between her shows. Ellen is a wonderful loving, giving woman She will always land on her feet!
Jennifer Gray, I had no idea how hard she had been battling in her personal life! I have battled health issues for many years and personally I feel the work, stress and the fact that Jennifer is putting herself out into the public Spotlight again, I have to vote for her! Bravo Jennifer, you have come through the worst part of health issues, you’ve come through the other side not allowing all the pain & sickness to keep you under. Your smiling, dancing most importantly LIVING! God Bless all of YOU!
