“I’ll Retire When…”

The idea of retirement makes many of us giddy, in more ways than one. Every time we read Phil’s, Victoria’s and Nancy’s comments, we start laughing all over again!

“I’m retiring as soon as I’ve paid off the mortgage.
According to the calculations I should be hitting the beach when I’m about 135…”
Phil Hutt

“I retired almost two years ago. I turned 62 on a Thursday and Friday was my last day…I couldn’t wait. I retired the same place I’ve been living, and although someplace without snow sounds great in winter, since I don’t HAVE to go out in the snow if I don’t want to, I’ll just stay where I am. I love my small town rural life.”
Bee Rakar

“Already did, at 52. Spent my life running my own business, and then one day I just knew I was done. Sold it, and never looked back.”
Lucy Gwendolyn

“I retired two years ago come October. Haven’t regretted it for a second. Neither does my husband, who retired.”
Michele Smith

“I’ll be working half a day on the day of my funeral.”
Victoria Pepin

“In June this is my last year teaching. It’s been 28 years. I will be turning 65. My hubby is retiring, too. Can’t wait!!!”
Helen Franzetti

“I retired three years ago in December. Took the government offered early out. I’m in my early 50s. Best thing I’ve ever done for myself (other than my kids.)”
Jean Farrell

“Never. I really don’t ever want to. I’m 65 now and I love keeping active on many levels, including keeping a job.”
Anna Lein

“I retired three years ago when I was 56, and I retired from Dallas, TX to Highlands, NC.”
Bonnie Bell

“Five years after I die.”
Nancy Gooderham

I’m thinking Nevada in 10. Being 56 now…all plans can change.”
Kar-ron Wood

In two weeks! Can’t wait! I will work part time 10 to 15 hours a week, same company, different position. I feel blessed!”
