What wine should I serve with my wedding cake?

If white icing and vanilla cake a dry Riesling would be best like Pegasus Bay Riesling about $26 off dry. citrus and well balanced but with a wedding you can save some dollars by going with Brotherhood Riesling Dry a crisp, refreshing, dry, fruit and a high value bargain at about 9 dollars a bottle rated 4 out of 5 stars. I feel the wine should not be sweeter than the cake thus taking away from it so I recommend a dry white.
If a chocolate cake a Pinot Noir, try Kenwood Valley Russian River Valley Pinot Noir or Long Island’s own Duckwalk Blueberry Port is excellent for anything chocolate! In fact they serve it with chocolate hearts.
If you want a sparkling try Champagne Legrus and Haas Brut Tradition about $20 a bottle a good sparkling for desserts Rated 4 out of 5.
Congrats on your upcoming wedding and all the best wishes no matter what wine you serve! just try them with a piece of cake so you can compare what tastes best to you and your groom.

A nice Perseco would go with about any cake…Lunetta is great for the price

Champagne or sparkling wine – my faves are Mumm’s, Roederer or Billecart. If you want to go really big Dom Perignon is always good. For sparkling, a particularly appropriate one is Iron Horse Wedding Cuvee, but Gloria Ferrer is also nice. Italian Prosecco or Spanish Cava, particularly Segura Viuda are fun. Bubbles and cake are always in style.

I go with Corky. There are numerous inexpensive champagnes that won’t break the bank. I love Prosecco.

A nice white sparkling wine would be best. The dry of the white wine will off set the sweet of the cake. A Moscoto would be a lovely wine to serve.

Somehow wine with a wedding cake would clash and you would lose the true taste of the wine, a sort of bitterness perhaps. That being said, I agree with others that said sparkling wine . Good luck!

Wedding cake with champagne or prosecco – what could be better? Perhaps a vintage champagne if you can afford it!

A good Italian Prosecco is an excellent sparkling choice!

I found a great desert wine called Rosa Regale. It’s a sparkling red, a very nice blend of herbal strawberry and raspberry flavors. It goes especially well with chocolate.

Champagne or Italian Sparkling White wine. You don’t need the most expensive wine, but you need a palate cleanser. And the white does that.

Depends on the type of cake. Chocolate? Serve a Bracchetto d’Aqui from Italy (Banfi Rosa Regali). White cake w/ butter cream frosting? Probably a Moscato d’Asti. The rule of thumb is that the wine should be as sweet or sweeter than the food it’s being served with. And I like a sparkling wine with cake because it helps clean the palate between bites. Hopes this helps. Wait–Didn’t you just have a first date yesterday? 😉

Wine-Know love your replies-one day we have to meet and have a glass or a few of various wines! Love Moscato and Rose Regali but not everyone likes the sweetness when I serve it with desserts.
