My daughter will be moving to San Francisco soon. Can you suggest some “don’t miss” places to go to while I’m there visiting her? I’ll be staying for 2 weeks.
Thank you

I agree with all the other comments, but also I always enjoy Chinatown – no matter how many times I go there. Also….take a jacket. Otherwise you will have to buy one while you are there! San Francisco is a great walking town. Do some shopping in the Union Square area and go to a few plays in the small theaters. Japantown can be interesting….just wander. You will have a great time!
Oh…one more thing….have a drink at sunset in the bar at the top of the Fairmont hotel on Nob Hill. Lovely.

What a great time to visit. Tour all the highlights of the city…Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz if you like history, walk thru Chinatown & Fisherman’s Wharf. Museums are great, Japanese Tea Gardens are pretty, restaurants are fantastic. Head north to the Muir Woods for a day. Also head to Sonoma for a wine country trip. If you can spare a couple of days, Napa is great. Figure out the wineries you want to visit ahead of time & make appointments. Those are more unique than the larger ones. Or head south to Half Moon Bay or Santa Cruz for a day. Possibilities are endless depending on you and what you like to do.

Lucky you! San Francisco is one of my all time favorite places to visit! And the fact that you will have two weeks to explore the city and the surrounding area is great! There are of course the most famous sights such as The Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz that you should see as well as Muir Woods and Sausalito. The Napa valley and Calistoga are great dayâs trips if you can spend 1 or 2 nights in the Napa/Sonoma area that would be even better. There are a couple of good guide books one is City guide to San Francisco and another not so traditional is Hidden San Francisco and Northern California. There is so much to do and see you will love it I am sure. Good luck to your daughter and the move.
